A good use for the Autopilot is to turn it on after you’re in warp to the destination station (via your instant dock bookmark) so that it requests docking as soon as possible.
Xuixien is a crybaby, lots of them are, actually. I have come to the conclusion I can’t find ways to progress is because they want to grief the game to death, and pretend to be loyal customers all the way down.
It doesn’t take much in here to find yourself mumbling and beating your head against the wall.
JJ
That isnt my experience so far. There is some fair bit of “do as I say, not as I do” but for the most part I think a lot of these people have just spent a long time explaining things they consider obvious to people like me. I imagine that can be quite frustrating over time. I don’t fault them for that one bit.
My argument with xuixien came from reading a thread where he was constantly claiming he has some form of right to be a jerk and that it should be accepted and welcomed. To test his idea, I became rude and condescending and sat back and watched as he flagged all my posts to be censored. Prime example of do as I say, not as I do.
Calm down Ganker
Don’t worry, post 5,767, I doubt anyone new reads this far, hell people probably see that number and say nope.
But really, if you need help I am here for you, you don’t have to go around blow fishing.
JJ
This matches 90% of highsec these days.
Just look at Kador, the former home region of mine where I was wreaking havoc back in 2018/2019. Now? Pretty much no highsec gank in months if there was even one this year.
But that is too far from Jita which has best prices of ore right? And we are getting to the main reasons why ppls get ganked:
- laziness
- greediness
- stupidity
- toxicity
This is true and very good advice.
JJ
Okay, I missed that.
@Jesse_W_James
Is this true JJ? I mean using alts in order to avoid giving out free intel or to avoid harassment is one thing, but doing it in order to argue in bad faith is low… and that’s coming from a baby seal clubber.
One definition is widely accepted by youtubers, devs, game journalists, and gamers. The other is a narrowed definition created by people who wish to exclude forms of game play that they wish to delegitimize. Don’t fall for it. The people who are doing it have an agenda. I’m loath to bring up real world politics, but it provides some great examples (such as when people try to redefine recession, or what constitutes poverty).
I agree with that, PvP is all about picking the right fight. Which is funny when some silly guy down below @Xuixien said the person be targeted as the advantage, when not having the choice to pick is the biggest disadvantage, the person wouldn’t be coming if they didn’t think they had a chance.
BS Shipwreck, don’t come at me with your crap Scottsman stuff when you can’t find hardly any sites that says PvP is playing market games. I mean it is like say monopoly is PvP, and if that is how you think, no wonder we are miles apart on most topics.
Your community is doing that for you, and you want to sit here and defend it. If you enjoy ganking so much you would enact a ganking honor code, or have some integrity in the community but you can’t, just lie, cheat, steal, and then turn around and cry. Like I have said before, let CCP remove ganking before and we can watch the threads on how many people miss it.
Maybe we got crossed somewhere this is what I am saying PvP is. If you are saying this too, well a lot of wasted typing.
Geezus calm down, we can go down the silly idea of Madden or FIFA being PvP, but does that sentence even look right? It is player verses player, but other than the match your not losing anything.
I don’t see why this wouldn’t be PvP.
And you are so determined to legitimize the crap gameplay you do by self-rationalizing it as something it isn’t. Its funny we get caught up with this petty BS of what PvP is and if we put the effort into a balance of ganking we would have been done 5000 post ago.
OMG don’t do it Shipwreck don’t discredit me… okay okay you can fit your ship with inertial stabilizers and run like hell. Hell CCP should just get rid of Barges and T2 Exhumers we can all just mine in Ventures, Endurance and Prospect. And we can counter-play it up OMG so much fun, I can’t wait to get on tonight and play ganker counterplay. Sound stupid?? It is because it is.
This is like saying not blowing up is counterplay. Come on Shipwreck give me a break. Now I am not saying the mining ship needs to blow the ganker up, but maybe a antiganker kills the gankers and get LP or some other mechanic that allows for antiganking to be real, then you have real counter play.
No I am using Chrome, and not going to lie I went through several looking specifically for stuff outside of the normal of PvP, like anything resources or market. I didn’t run across anywhere I thought I would hit one in the first 5.
And I see your definition below, again if we want to stretch it out to cover markets and forum postss, mining, and all the other BS, I mean it would take a while but I guess I would come around to it.
So are we saying Miners are the most hardcore PvP in Eve? Hour for Hour activity PvPing you would find no other more hardcore than the Mining community.
The revelations today just keep coming, never thought I would see the above. I said there needed to be change, I guess even I wasn’t understanding how much was needed.
JJ
Nah, as long as you warp you are safe. Ganking miner arriving to station is not a thing because:
- usual ganking destroyer gets killed by the sentry towers in just a few seconds
- there is only minimal chance that miner lands as far away from station dock range for us to even be able to kill him before he docks, and this chance is 0% if he has prop mod which we don’t know
- unless there is single station at the same “celestial cluster” we cannot really know where he warped to even if we had a scout sitting on the belt cloaked (and it wasn’t our multibox alt because if it was we wouldn’t be looking at that acc at all)
Especially after barges EHP buff I would say that ganking barge at station with anything else than 4x tornado is impossible unless completely afk. Using instadock is pointless in this case it just causes you to waste seconds trying to find it under right click or in bookmark folder (window).
We tried to bump miners off the citadel, but excluding one case they always docked. So we stopped doing that, it is waste of time especially now when you can find Hulk in pretty much every system you fly into these days.
Am I trying to argue in bad faith no. Do I think there is anything wrong with my one alt for forums, no. Do I think I would get in any trouble for what I have said, no. But why bring all that attention to you.
I mean who is to say any of you are mains. If I wanted JJ to look like a real player, I could have easily. I came in and started a conversation.
The sad part about the whole thing is, @Ax_l_Thorne and @lo Koval have made more post to my alt situation than the actual post. Wait a second, is this one person? Are they fictitiously plotting up an alt scheme, wait you already know I am an alt, big deal.
JJ
If it ain’t a big deal then there ain’t a big deal to just post with your main.
The fact you’re talking about it as frequently as I – and resorting to personal insults – might mean I touched a nerve.
I doubt that now.
Note, while you keep personally insulting me, I never personally insult you. I make fun of you being an alt and the name of your alt. It shouldn’t matter to you, cause you admit posting on an alt is no big deal.
That is the difference between you and me, I’m looking out for the community and you’re spewing vitrol.
I was specifically talking about using multiple sock puppet accounts, but if you say you aren’t doing it, I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt.
The whole point is that my Eve experience categorically proves everything you say is wrong.
You act as if you are trying to protect people. You aren’t. You are actually diminishing the achievement of all those hundreds of noobs who have survived the cruel environment of Eve and flourished. They don’t need your protecting. The survivors can stand tall and proud…precisely because they survived an environment that was tough. That is what you constantly fail to grasp, in your attempts to rescue the latest bunch of squaddies from Eve Boot Camp.
JJ’s position is still that Eve should have a Highsec invulnerability button in exchange for something like half the PvE reward, right? Or has this been modified/am I misremembering?
JJ’s position is: “I like EVE, but I don’t like ganking. Therefore ganking should be removed.”
JJ is free to play Albion and stick to the blue zones.
I don’t even remember anymore. I think he said he was okay with ganking either being balanced or removed, but that might have been someone else.
Anyway, as both a HS PvE’er and PvP’er, I hate the idea. HS does have a broken risk to reward ratio right now, but I’d much rather see risk increased, than reward reduced (or risk and reward reduced). That would reward skilled and attentive play, and HS PvP would get a needed boost. I’ve heard people from LS and NS argue that nerfing HS reward would help them out by encouraging more people to leave HS, but I’d rather an increase in their populations not come at a significant expense to HS. I mean, I like HS -easy logistics, target rich environment, large social mass, and an “open nature” that is more conducive to meeting new people. And, of course, if you pick the right activities, you can’t beat the risk to reward ratio of HS right now.
And no, I don’t think that would make HS too hard for noobs. I honestly believe that the danger of HS has become a joke, and I say that as someone who was a newbro at a time when HS was unequivocally more dangerous.
Speaking of which, I do have thoughts about if making HS more casual friendly helped player retention over the short, medium, and long term, and whether or not it changed player demographics, but that’s a conversation that I’ll have to save for later.
What I am trying to do, more or less, is get back to the merits or flaws of a proposed change that a real someone actually backs. If I want to say something on the subject, I want to be sure I’m not attacking a strawman constructed of vague memories I have of tangental things. That we don’t remember what his position actually is sounds a wee bit like a problem.
He seems like a pretty standard fare carebear to me. He wants unearned privileges.
Don’t you mean doc and blog ?
