Nerf Ganking Megathread

Oh goodie, here’s a snapshot. It’s in english, not icelandic. The red rectangle is my addition, to try to focus your attention on the relevant words. At least have a modicum of intellectual honesty, and stop extrapolating what it means in what you wish it meant.

This isn’t the ganking you’re desparately looking for to have removed. Mr Ratati discussed GRIEFING.
If you care to switch on the audio you would hear him assure that “gankers” in hisec will not be affected. That means, dear Lucas, should you, a veteran player (if you were to play, that is) would ever undock in hisec, even in a rookie ship, you’d be fair game for an EvE-style gank and contribute to the content. Because you don’t fit the profile of 1)new player AND 2)new player ship AND 3)no value in cargo. You know how Boolean logic works. Or don’t you ?

Some people count sheep, you keep saying this mantra. Whatever works for you. How could we not be wrong if you are the only one who is correct, eh ?

Your definition of ganking is not present anywhere but in your own limited perception. The simple truth is you hate losing anything. GRIEFING isn’t part of how the game is played. But you can try to shift that distinction all you want, and see how far you get. In the mean time, expect opposition.

I didn’t know you could mindread. Or did you actually have a conversation with him, and taped it ? Please link.
As expected and predicted (see earlier post) you are trying to use the wide grey zone between the two distinctions he made for your own shadow play. You get called out again. So, an Ibis is not a legitimate target (unless flown by a vet, or with valuable cargo inside). What about a vexor ? Or a raven with a “new” player but no cargo, say two jumps away from a starter system ? Yes ? No ? Up for debate ? LOL

Another expectation fulfilled: look at what they did with Infinity.

Still waiting for an answer from you on this one, if you have any. An other uncomfortable position to be squeezed in ?

FTFY. Griefing warrants countermeasures from ccp. Ganking does not.

Ah, so you’d be okay with the ibis with cargo, the vexor, and the raven flown by a rookie being shot down in hisec if that is the outcome. Good. We’re finally getting somewhere.

Taking your wishes and dreams for granted is what makes you stay behind, Lucas. There are no indications CCP will call any part of legitimate ganking GRIEFING.

LOL I was literally in those systems 10 mins ago. No one dying. Checked zkills. On average not a whole lot of death. Your hyperbole is amusing friend

Not really LOL.

That’s cause war decs and low were a thing

Actually she’s drawing a correlation to their enjoyment of PvP. And EVE is a PvP game

LOL. Again, they are really not dying that much. Also you attempting to lecture an active AGer is just chef’s kiss. I may not like or respect Gith, but she is much more knowledgeable about the current state of ganking than a dude who doesn’t play LOL.

Bro you don’t even play LOL.

Nope, that was griefing, not ganking as another poster already pointed out. Sorry bro, you lose ROFL.

It was not actually. Did you take up yoga? You’re reaching rather far

It is tho? It is allowed by the mechanics. I mean you’d know this if you played the game

Wut. So CCP says ganking doesn’t affect retention. But CCP also knows they are wrong. But they are the ones who said it.

Um. You need help brosef

Its the opposite, as Wad said. Sorry bro. You tried tho

LOL so you don’t live in reality. Got it ROFL.

No, it isn’t ROFL. Man you just keep moving those goalposts LOL.

Why is the venture considered a noob ship? What if he’s hauling valuable stuff in a venture? LOL. You must be new my guy. Lots of peeps haul profitable small stuff in a venture.

Another empty claim. Link the numbers he showed in the presentation ? I won’t go through the entire presentation, because there is a very high probability that if he had shown data they would be all over this forum and reddit. Since they didn’t, they’re not there.

LOL eh

like I said, your empty claim. Thanks anyway for coming clean on this.

Btw, the numbers Scipio has available don’t specify “new player” nor “cargo value”. So, what do you plan on proving with only one condition fulfilled with his numbers ? That there are higher numbers of cheap ships flown in hisec than expensive ones ? We all know that, or should.

ROFL so you give up.

Thankee for conceding the field and the point

LOL drop your proof my guy. You keep saying this and can’t back it with any kind of proof.

He gave up

Nevah ! When you least expect a comeback, expect it ! :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

You guys, argue with Lucas long enough and you’ll realize that you really shouldn’t pick on him. He’s plenty intelligent, pretty well spoken, just… yeahhh
You’re punching down. There’s no honor in tha… wait,
looks at long list of retriever kills
carry on.

I’d never have taken your for a CCP fanboy. Or is it just the “fitting my narrative this time” aspect that makes you write those words (as opposed to the p2w discussion) ?

They move indeed, slowly, true. Forward, you say ? That would imply a straight trajectory - which never happened in EvE’s history.

Veterans doing missions with marauders.
Risk and reward?
When will ever ever a marauder pay itself from lvl 4 missions in high sec ?
300 years?
you are ganked by the horrible terrorists the next day anyway so you dont need to calculate

By your hope of salvation. I understand.
Would that bring you back as a (somewhat) active player again ?

He’s completely wrong. Being a noob in Eve is no different to boot camp. You either have the toughness required and make it through, or you don’t. It is better that people run away at that stage rather than in the heat of battle. It is pointless mollycoddling noobs and thus giving them a false impression of the harsh world that Eve is. Converting highsec into Telletubbie Carebear Paradise is simply going to lead to an even greater ‘WTF !’ moment when noobs venture into lowsec. And if they never venture into lowsec then why are they even in Eve.

Anyone who leaves Eve because they got ganked in a Venture that can replace its own cost in a single trip to gather Veldspar…well, its probably not the right game for them anyway. Eve is a game where you have to get used to losing hundreds of millions, sometimes even billions, in a single day. Losing a noob Venture is a mere pin prick in the scheme of things.

Ventures are free, too

What a convenient way of saying, “I’m lazy and I don’t care what counter arguments you have.”

Lol, look at that massive wall of text.

Buddy learn to be more concise, will ya?

I made billions running missions in a marauder in high sec. In all that time I lost one largely T2 fit marauder to gankers in high sec and that fit comfortably in my profit loss calculations.

The key is to blitz not play for bounties and salvage, have your wits about you and make your isk when it isn’t peak time and local isn’t saturated.

Even the time I got ganked I could have avoided it.

That being said if you are far enough in the game to fly marauders there are better things you can do to earn isk.
