Its completely unrealistic in EVE however since no two players are the same. It’s not like a round-based BattleRoyale where you go for 100 rounds with always the same starting loadout but one player magically has better weapons and armor.
No it isnt, because Gold Ammo always does more damage per hit. And no non-paying player can get this more-damage. It is P2W because even worse player can kill the better player with less shots.
And in EVE you are not really competing in terms of assets and ISK against other players, you are mostly competing in terms of making good or bad decisions.
They will blame the spring manufacturer, the glove’s owner, the government, the weather, anyone who in their opinion distracted them (even if was not even present at the time), and call everyone (except for themselves) toxic for not warning them (even if were not there anyway) and even if they did not doing so earlier (“in time”) and demand a nerf of the boxing gloves and banning of the string altogether (and compensation for their troubles).
Lol. Thus speaks someone who doesn’t have a killboard record for over 2.5 years whereas I have 24 just in the past month. And somehow I’m the one out of touch with the game !
Don’t put words into my mouth. I have made clear what I consider P2W: If one could buy anything with real money that a non-paying player cannot get access to by any ingame mechanic.
But I can buy Skill Injectors, TrainingBoosters, Implants or whatever any of these “Game Packs” offer for ISK as well and it is not very hard to get the ISK for it if I want to do that. And since I do not know or have any influence over the SP or Equipment of any other pilot on the field, I couldn’t care less if he has trained or bought his SP, I always have to deal with what he brings to the grid and its entirely my decision to engage it or not or how I do it. And on that Grid he cannot have any purchased advantage that I can’t have as well.
You can of course try to twist that around as long as you like, it doesn’t change my personal opinion about what P2W is. The stuff CCP has implemented in EVE rather helps newer players to catch up to the hundreds of millions of SP and billions in Assets that older players already have accumulated, what is not a bad thing at all because it is pretty frustrating for a new player to be told “yeah my friend, you want to fly with us in our HAC-Doctrine Fleets with fully T2 fit? Next year maybe, next year!”. Just because it took me 5 years to train what I can fly now, it isnt nessessarly good t hat someone who begins now should also need 5 years to even catch up to the point where I am today.
Thats what I thought which is why I dont understand how you dont get that reducing the NORMAL length of time it takes for money is an advantage to be had.
It would be cheating to get “above a level that I can reach as legit player” with money. It isn’t cheating to catch up to me to somewhat equalize the disadvantage of a later start.
I don’t wish to sandbag this thread too but I like others just wish to be a part of history.
If or when the coming changes to the way Highsec Concord / Faction War / Deathless play this game then many like to feel a part of the change either for or against.
I did not. I did explain why buying SP is in no way “cheating” but one way for newer players to catch up to older players who currently have nearly all advantages on their side.
