I have Trainz Railroad Simulator. I fire it up whenever I just want to drive trains!

You can’t take your mind completely off it, because of signals, freight stops, passengers on/off, etc.

You definitely cannot gank AFK!

The closest thing I play to a simulated job is Stardew.

Thats an interesting point. So many playstyles are AFK but ganking is impossible to AFK. Maybe it needs a buff to balance that out?

Mate, Stardew is the nuts. I love that game. I’ve got designs from when where I was planning to make a Harvest Moon clone then Stardew came out and saved me the trouble.

For me it is all about the music. That’s what makes it for me.

See…there you go again, changing the narrative when shown to be wrong. You claimed various groups, including gankers, were ‘out of control’. ‘Narrative’ is a complete red herring ( as always with you ) as narrative has no actual power or influence in and of itself. Nobody ever got shot by 3000 DPS of narrative. ‘Out of control’ can only have meaning in terms of actual DPS. So the systems those such as gankers hang out in are totally relevant.

Pilot interaction within New Eden should never be referred as being of extremely poor quality even if one Pilot stands out the most from all of the rest.

If this was true in times gone by, then nothing has changed - except that CCP may now be permitting a different flavour of player to define the game.

Or does it only matter if they are swayed by individuals of whom you disapprove?

If that is the case, then you are no different from we gankers, who decry the incipient decline of our beloved playstyle, blaming at least some of it on CCP’s lending an ear to the PvP-shy carebears.

I do not blame CCP. It is a commercial entity, which will always act primarily in its own interests.

Your accusations regarding their past actions do look like partiality. If responding to the concerns of players is what CCP does, then applaud it!

Now you may not like the playstyle, but it is legitimate. But somehow because they are engaging in this playstyle, you are making broad sweeping assumptions about their real life, outside of the vidya game.

I do because it is statically correct. I know it isn’t 100%, but how do you say one is good and the other isn’t. You don’t, that is what stats are for. Greifer group people is a narccistc trait, look it up. So it can be said it is a mental thing, and how real life is, as they treat people in real life the same.

Now in my long gaming career my anecdotal evidence is that I find the competent PvPers, gankers etc, are for the most part very smart and well adjusted people. They can be clannish, but that comes with the territory.

Some can be, again just the stats and most are cry babies, have a hard time to change, adapting, and losing.

But move out to low, wh, and null there are some really great PvPers and they are much less toxic, although I will have to say unfortunately it does exist even out there. Poking fun and a little harassment is always fun, but people need to know when to cut it off.

Yes again, like many others including myself this is the fall back. But it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to put yourself in someone else’s shoes. Ganking wouldn’t go into low. Ganking is a specalized form of high sec PvP. PvP anywhere else is simply called PvP.

Also, they would never enter low because they would never have a reason to. You realize there is a reason why most of low is safer than high sec right? I barely see people in my neck of the woods cept for one corp that has made it its home.

It is true, Null is even worse, there isn’t enough people to fill the systems. So forcing PvP to be in those areas force people to leave out of High. I think a lot of it would happen naturally.

If anything, high sec needs a nerfing.

I don’t think it murders the game, well I know it doesn’t, we can check MER reports on this. I think a little more balance to high and the other regions and we will be fine here. We just need more people, or maybe not more people but a stable body and not a declining one.

Simply pointing out that you are just as duplicitous as Lucas in trying to have the argument both ways. As with all cases of confirmation bias the belief comes first and then the ‘supporting evidence’ is tacked on later. That is how, as Aiko and Gix and others have pointed out, you end up using a piece of ‘evidence’ in mutually contradictory ways in different posts. It is a clear sign of intellectual dishonesty.

And you try to back it up with a highly selective ‘CCP said…’…for example quoting a snippet of graph from CCP Rise, whilst at the same time deliberately avoiding his statement at the exact same time that CCP could find no evidence that ganking was deterring noobs.

Let’s be clear, Ganking needs to move to Low sec. There are a few scenarios where it would be cool in high, but no one on the ganking side find it cool, and thus the boot it is.

I have never quoted CCP, you and your friends do all the time. Not me, and yes you do exactly what you state, stretch it out as far as humanly possible.
