Nerf Ganking Megathread

Because I also have kills on Dracvlad which is my main, and you had none on your main I presume, since 2014, until five days ago.

Allying in on a war dec against PH means that you can farm a lot of noobs, but every so often you will meet some proper resistance, I am sure that you managed to dock up in time.

Oh, you should hear me on comms. I also do a pretty decent Walken!

Do your comm mates ask for more cowbell?

Look at him move those goal posts! lol

“Oh, you talk about PvP? But you haven’t even played for many years”

“Oh, you are playing? Well you’re only picking on baby seals!”

“Oh, you’re allying with a 12-man group against a 30,000-player alliance? Well, most of them are inactive players so you’re just griefing stragglers!”

“Oh, you’re getting kills? Well, you’re not getting enough kills to validate your forum opinions!”

“Oh, they bring 50-man gangs specifically try to kill you because you pissed off their entire alliance? Oh, well you’re always going to dock anyway!”

“Oh, you actually killed some of them? That’s just because you played dirty instead of fighting them in open battle!”

“Oh, they couldn’t break your tank? That’s just because you’re swiping your mom’s credit card to buy implants that normal players can’t afford!”

And just on and on and on. Spoken like a true pussy with absolutely zero accomplishments to their name.

You went off on so many defensive tangents from that post about farming PH noobs :exploding_head:

Do you feel perhaps a little bit triggered by that? Calm down please, I am super impressed that you are playing Eve again.

Look at that amazing reversal, you guys. He goes for both the “u mad” maneuver AND appropriates ganker terminology in a single play. He’s like the EVE version of an NBA all-star!

Hey Dracvlad, are you so much of a wet paper bag that you can’t even follow through with keeping me “temporarily blocked” until March 1, like you told everyone and their grandmother that you would? Because surely I didn’t get my sentence commuted for good behavior, right?

In case anyone forgot (and I’ll be sure to post the thread about this soon), I challenged this person to grief me out of the game in exchange for 10 billion ISK, and he ducked it by pretending that he was the one actually challenging me and I was the one declining, before disappearing from the forums for almost an entire month under the pretense of “playing another game.”

You do seem a bit mad.

Why do you think that Eve is a game where you challenge someone? And that someone has to bend over backwards to accept your challenge?

The block is still applied to you until 1st March, but I decided to look at some of your posts in selected threads. I find your rants rather amusing to be honest.

Drac, you’re back; though it has to be said that things were a tad less fraught when you were enmeshed with Cyberpunk 2077.

Is it patched to perfection now?

On Topic - Nit-picking players’ performance using zKill isn’t likely to conclude any argument. I think the two sides are sufficiently well-balanced in the field for all nerf-ganking threads to be closed.

But that would be the end of EVE Online Forums, so…
(thanks, Gix)

It was less than two weeks of running through it again, but I was still doing some Eve, but was not paying much attention to the forums, it is just so full of ganker bait and boast posts. I have had a couple of small, very minor issues with this 1.5 patch, but I enjoyed it from the start anyway.

Where was I nit-picking? Allying in on a war with PH will give you a lot of noobs to farm, merely a statement of fact, and when Destiny showed an overview with a fleet I assumed that Destiny was on the station and was able to dock up promptly. It is a style of play and I was merely stating that was what likely happened. People are so damn sensitive over perceived slights. If I had seen that Macherial that Destiny was using on Zkill then I would be surprised.

The Eve forums are a badly moderated cess pit of troll posting and very few casual players go anywhere near it because of that. Gix is an example of someone who should be moderated by the ISD, but is not. That is all one can say about the Eve forums.

Glad you’re enjoying the game. I bought it, played a bit, and now it’s languishing in my Steam Library. Maybe later.

What I meant was that, whichever side you choose, there doesn’t appear to be a clincher argument; something from which a clear winner will irrefutably emerge. I read the stuff, but contribute less than before. It’s all so wearisome.

Falcon had a right go at me a few years back, and I was shocked; shocked I tell you. It seems that there isn’t a photocopied hymn-sheet from which the team (or any team) is prepared to sing in unison.

If the sub-forums are so repulsive, I wonder that you continue contributing as you do. I know you enjoy it sometimes, but surely there comes a point at which it is a waste of time? I’m certainly nudging that point!

How is this my problem? Why are you trying to make me responsible for someone’s feeling? I have absolutely no control over that.

The person who lost their ship can actively choose how to feel about it. Be it to the abyss or to a gank.

I’m not going to manage their emotions for them.

Nice try validating their victim mentality though.

Cyberpunk 2077 is a stonking game, I really enjoyed it and the 1.5 patch has got the balance on max difficulty even better, imo of course, though it is often subjective I know. In your shoes wait a bit longer for a content DLC to drop then give it another go, but I am enjoying this play through. They added an invisibility module, which I find excellent.

In terms of the argument, it is just a senseless argument mostly. I have tried to have a debate and discussion with people over this but I just get mindless personal insults thrown at me. That is so wearisome, but we all like talking about Eve because it is a rich game.

You know my stance is that I think on balance ganking adds to the game, however I do also recognise the negative aspects and extra effort involved which for many people is not fun. I rather enjoyed moving my stuff through the ganking hotspots and all that. With bumping changed to what it is now, the balance is largely fine, there are issues, but minor ones.

Ganking and AG counter play is not balanced imo, and I have pointed out that AG play is just not fun in the main, if at all, and is not sustainable. Most of my posts are encouragement to people doing AG in C&P only, with the odd deviation. In terms of Eve I have found my niche and just roll along with it.

I am always open to discuss, but not to argue about it with people who mindlessly throw insults my way. It is a waste of time and the reason why I am barely posting and have decided to just block the worst of them.

Three major issues for me have been sorted, unlimited time bumping, AFK cloaking camping and the ability to drop a structure to light a cyno. Three things that I seriously wanted. One of the reason I started playing again and went back into nullsec was that I could hunt AFK cloaky campers if they tried it, but CCP did it so it is not so cheap to do, which is great as I am about balance.

This was a bit of a ramble I know, but I thought you might appreciate these thoughts. o7

I will agree with Drac,

Cyberpunk 2077 is an amazing game, and one that I keep coming back to and playing in different ways with different difficulties.

Patch 1.5 so far seems pretty preem, Choom.

And to echo DC’s words, what has it really gained you? You sacrificed everything for a dude who barely plays, knows almost nothing about the game and confuses a mobile depot for an MTU.

Like I said, its wild to see.

LOL you would know. Aiko mindtricked you re-subbing LOL.

You know why this angle you’re trying to take makes you look just… not smart right?

Uh. The fact that you don’t understand why is chef’s kiss. Please learn to EVE better

Its so painfully obvious you don’t PvP LOL.

Why are you assuming DC is her main? Drac apparently isn’t yours

Bro you started playing again cause Aiko LOL.

Maybe cause I don’t actually break rules my dude

I haven’t touched it in a while. CB builds makes things pretty easy.

This is technically my main. I have three characters with the same capabilities and relative histories, but this is the one that’s effectively my public face. I’ve been very active on one of them, but for the past few years have mostly played on lowbie/infiltration alts. But for the foreseeable future, I’m going to be very active on this one.

Does that mean ganking is elite PvP?

Still it was interesting that you had not have blown up anything for almost 8 years on what you call your main. So for eight years you have infiltrated and nothing else, you must have a wealth of game play information to back up your rants. :exploding_head:

I mean she knows a bit more about EVE than you

You didn’t know the diff between an MTU and a depot LOL.

His trolling angle of pretending not to have read the post and then instead commenting on a reality that he creates in his own mind is like the most basic, beta thing I’ve ever seen.

The reality is that you did not blow up anything on what you call your main for almost eight years and yet you hold yourself out as an expert on Eve, which is rather laughable.

EIGHT YEARS!!!

So you were infiltrating someone for eight years, no wonder you begged me to set up a war HQ and war dec you because your infiltration and hunting skills are so poor you need an easy way to go after someone. That is so funny.

How on earth can anyone take you seriously?
