I did. Nothing in what you’ve said suggests the outcome you think will happen will actually happen.
Like, it ONLY works if everyone who sells things on the market agrees to this week long strike. But that’s never going to happen. You seem to have the flawed premise (and many highsec carebears do as well) that you’re the only people who actually produce goods that are sold on the market. not only that, you over-exaggerate the actual impact you have on the market.
you’re conveniently ignoring the fact that if a hole in the market appears (for the sake of argument, let’s say this week long strike is actually impactful). someone else who is more enterprising will notice it, build it, and fill that need, while you people on “strike” are smugging about how you’re NOT selling goods. if it becomes profitable to sell “expensive” ships that gankers use, guess what, people will build it who are NOT your fellow highsec carebears.
hell, i even built a bunch of T1 Destroyers during the time when their demand spiked due to the Abyssal arenas, but it never got to the point where it was “too expensive” for pilots.
That’s easy, fly Procurors, solo most hisec predators will leave you alone, in groups nothing deters predators more than several of the buggers with a ball of drone death waiting for anyone that thinks they’re hard enough.
Your isk/hr goes down but you rarely have to replace them.
You’re just posting to argue now. I’ve established my point and what I think may or may not happen. I’m sorry you don’t understand what I write. I tried to be as concise as I could.
Seriously though, the Procuror and its T2 brother the Skiff are tough nuts to crack; their yield is lower than the other barges, but in exchange you get some serious survivability and a half decent offence.
It won’t stop the determined or the pissed off, but it will reduce the chances of a casual drive-by gank significantly.
Suicide-ganking miners is done primarily on principle. It will always happen unless CCP makes it impossible, or prohibitively expensive, to do this. But the thing about ganking is that it’s very easy to defend against, and doesn’t need help from changed game mechanics.
And that was the essence of my argument; that the OP is asking CCP to do something for him and the players that he “represents” that they’re already able to do themselves without any assistance. Such a demand shouldn’t be rewarded on principle.
You are of course free to do whatever you want. It’s your game, and it’s your life. I’m just putting information and context on the table for your consideration.
Information and context duly considered. Whether I participate in this strike or not, I will get my game on and satisfaction wherever and however I can find it in New Eden.
I may change my mind and not support it or I may do it one day and profit from it the next, I don’t even know at this point.
The consensus seems to lean on the idea that it won’t ever happen or if it does it won’t have an impact on anything and anyone. I’d like to see which way it goes.
My browser is drowning in EVE-related bookmarks. I’ve been reading / watching stuff online about EVE for years. I just had to wait to get me a good gaming pc.
Thanks again for the heads up on those ships.
It’s partially attachment, and partially having a new, immediate goal to work toward (replacement of loss). CCP has pretty much confirmed that players who take losses stay in the game longer.
No worries, despite the differences of opinion most of the people here will happily answer questions if you have them; just don’t ask what we make or sell because trade secrets.
The same applies in-game, if you end up on the end of an antimatter incident treat it as a learning opportunity and ask about the what, how, why and how to make sure it doesn’t happen again. Permit RP aside CODE. will generally give you good advice if you ask nicely, as will any other PvP player worth their salt.
I can buy that. It’s really sad. Someone should tell them that they’re wasting their time and the longer they beat this horse the longer they’ll be miserable…
At this point, I won’t take CCP’s word for it. They’ve shown where their interests lie and it’s not toward players. As long the mullah keeps coming in the bank they’ll keep doing what they’re doing and laugh all the way there.
