Hmmm corpses will not disappear…
Corpses disappear the same way as wrecks and jetcans regardless of dt.
You know that not only null krabs are affected by downtime? Random downtime without at least 30 minute warning is total garbage.
The current warnings are sufficient to wind down everything you’re doing and safe up if that’s the concern. You don’t need a half hours warning.
What’s that got to do with it?
Guess I must have missed the rage thread filled with a bunch of Ausie’s calling for the removal of DT.
Tell you what I didn’t miss, all of the threads constantly being posted asking CCP to fix various issues in the game.
I would agree with that. The current warning time is plenty for any dt, regardless of the period when it is done

What’s that got to do with it?
Imagine being this dumb, lmao.
Are you this narrow minded that you don’t realize there are people living around the world in different timezones that are impacted by downtime more than you?
Aussies have been quietly complaining about downtime in the middle of their prime time for years.
And grateful it’s been reduced repeatedly.

You don’t need a half hours warning.
Abyss takes 30 mins. Those few bil gila pilots will be really happy with downtime in middle of pocket. Any other PvE activity is also highly related to downtime. So try fix your null problems without destroying second half of game.
Quietly complaining?
Wow, guess that explains why there’s no thread about it.

My preference, tbh, is to kill off asteroid belts entirely, and require a degree of scanning to find anything decent.
That’s a crappy preference. Ore signatures were removed because it was too hard to engage miners in them. Going back is bad and you should feel bad.
Asteroid belts are just fine as they are. Ore anomalies, on the other hand, they need to go. Ore anomalies need to be removed completely and their ores rolled into normal asteroid belts. These belts already have a replenishing and diminishing mechanic that forces people to move around and prevents them from having full mining capacities all the time. What you want is just bad.
Once Ore anomalies are gone, you can reintroduce ore signatures that randomly and rarely spawn and contain huge bounties of ore.

The cheap and nasty solution is: Lots more anomalies. With some regular ore anomalies added in.
Oh yes, because more anomalies is exactly what we need. More spam, more faulty mechanics, more not correctly spawning UI brackets, more spam in the probe window, more spam of inspace brackets. Steve, please, stop being so bad.
Several players have reached out directly to me and other CSM members about downtime and the related issues when the server restarts. These issues have been relayed to CCP.
Not everyone likes to post publicly.

Abyss takes 30 mins.
20 minutes.

Also what about all the other aspects of the game that are centered on / linked to DT, like exploration sites, special NPC spawns, Asteroid belts, etc?
That might break. We know for a fact that asteroid belts will not reseed, we are unsure of the extent of other things.

Other things like signatures?

Probably last major update put into public. But data is probable bit dated.
Thanks.
I do like the san setup, being an retired IT specialist, but would have moved the MSSQL DB to a SQL DB on Linux HA clusters for speed and reliabilty. I speak of experience as in my working days moved a couple of MSSQL DB’s to mySQL (yes I am old) and the increase in performance for us immens.

are daily database jobs going to take place on a live data base?
They are not going to take place.

Which is as much of a feature as it is something “breaking” if the concern is reducing the amount of stuff entering the economy.
