Observation on ganking & the rules

Yes, exactly my point, you are seeing it from another perspective. If three of four of those characters had jumped the second after from a 350 km warp to gate then perhaps I would have believed he was doing it manually. People are more likely to cheat on the small things like jumping gates where they won’t get noticed rather than the actual gank where they have the logs to hand.

I did not petition the guy or anything like that, I merely suggested that other players watch for this and if they had any suspicions that they contact CCP. Still if the guy is cheating while jumping gates potentially he might be cheating when doing the gank if he thought he could get away with it.

You can if you do it safely.

Do you get ganked often?

What do you fly?

Asking for our records.

So you were in low-sec, then?

Yeah, 0.3 or 0.4.

Do you watch local? Keep an eye on D-Scan?

Is your fit entirely PvE or do you keep a special something handy for suprise se… I mean PvP?

Also, are you alone when you are missioning or in a fleet?

Well if they are on the gate, its because they saw your ship on DScan and probably know its a likely L5 site.

If they can scan you, you probably can scan them.

Any idea what they were flying?

I’m always alone, but will look for a PVE type corp now as some of these lvl 5 missions can be pretty damn hard lol. I watch local, not sure what D-Scan is though. I have a destination ready and once a flying dweeb comes in I’m outta there with a 6.7 sec align time raven. But I can’t do ■■■■ PODDLY SQUAT agaisnt a bunch of nerds waiting for me somewhere in the middle of my mission’s run. One nerd with a tugboat can beat a battleship, right, so much for reality in this b!tch. LOL.

Says here you were obliterated by a Leshak and a Tengu.

Thats a Battleship and a Tech 3 Strategic Cruiser, not exactly tugboats.

What drones do you use?

Pretty much.

All of this thread here reminds me… I have 3 accounts now, but back in the days when I only had 2, I was flying 2 little ol’ Confessors in a Blood Raider Crimson Harvest event site one of the first two years that Halloween event was going… and some dude warps in on a site I’ve already started and then follows me in to the 2nd room through the accel gate and starts complaining in local that I’m a cheater. I asked him wtf he was talking about. He said the fact that both of my toons had used the accel gate to warp to the 2nd room at the same time was proof I was cheating. I then proceeded to kill the cruisers and then the BC boss rat at the end of the site… can’t remember whether he bothered to contest me or not while all this was going on.

I was left scratching my head. Dude clearly has never used more than one EVE account at a time and doesn’t know how easy it is to make a couple or even a handful of toons do something at nearly the same server tick most of the time with nothing but the clients alone, no 3rd party software. Wonder if he reported me as a bot to CCP.

Aye. And there is EVE-O Preview to help if you don’t want to use ISBoxer. (just gives you another way to help with window switching so you’re not having to alt-tab constantly… and lets you see a preview window of a few or all of your toons online). A few CCP devs have even checked off on it in its original forum thread by the player who created it.

Oh, but in terms of manual fully-in-game things… in addition to fleet warp, pre-activating modules, etc… there’s also regroup… the squad or wing or fleet commander can hit the regroup button and all people in fleet underneath them will orbit tightly… good for anchoring up a multiboxed fleet nice and easy. can also help with aligning for warps… just get your anchor toons well in front of the rest towards the next site, stargate, WH, whatever… and regroup and then fleet warp.

And also just simple things like selecting the same thing on the overview with all the toons, then cycling through them quickly and locking, or activating a F key module or hitting “D” to warp/jump/dock or “S” to just warp or whatever. So many little shortcuts and tricks that I think a lot of newer/singleboxers never bother to learn but are invaluable when you multibox either a little or a lot.

Now now… Uedama/Sivala wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for the existence of other hubs besides Jita and Amarr!

Killing CONCORD doesn’t happen in this day and age outside of some missions where you can shoot at CONCORD rats technically… I think what you were seeing was people shooting navy police in lowsec.

Oh, there are a few systems in HS where the local police ARE Concord, tho… like Yulai and Kemerk and such. I’ve heard that you can quite easily get yourself effectively concorded there without ever going flashy red.

This is impossible. For a start, theres no CONCORD in Low Sec

They dont, they scan for system activity.

See its bothering me how you got dropped on by those other 9 guys before that.

Didnt you see local spike?

There was 4 Batttleships in the squadron, did you get tackled by the Stilletto first?

It’s just so curious when you say things like this and I sit and wonder what the hell you are talking about. I even ask around and no one has any idea what the hell you are on about.

You just never, not ever once, provide a link- or something -anything at all to substantiate the nonsense that comes out of your mouth. I mean seriously, what are you gibbering about?

It’s like when an angry homeless man wonders into the restaurant and nobody knows quite what to do or say about it.

I would love to read whatever minerbumping article you are alluding to, but I know that will never happen because it’s probably all just in your head like the wreck HP conspiracy.

Tell us all about the wreck HP conspiracy again, Drac.

I don’t know, as soon as I warped to the mission’s 2nd point, guy and his capn crunch gank squad drive up to me 4km away, warp scramble, done, finished, end of story. Whoopie rffin do! We got em boys!

They see you in system. They give you a min to get to mission.

They scan you down. That tells them where the first gate is.

A Stiletto could easily out run you mid gate and be waiting for you with his great mates behind.

You have virtually no chance of hitting the Stiletto before they get there unless you have good drones/drone skills.

Local would have told you that there were nine other people in system. Dscan what they were flying.

or bring loooots of webs/grapplers.

True but I was considering the fit he lost as it seems his standard go to.

No ganking thread is perfect without some added salt from Dracvlad about how he once saw something

What makes the ganking moves uniform is a good fleet commander.
Also botting in ganking is not a bad idea. All these mining botters need some botting gankers.
Fight fire with fire.

You’ve got to love it when some dork who plays a hardcore spaceship simulation MMORPG calls other players dorks because they play the game in a different way to them. You got a laugh out of me, poindexter.
