I wish the Odysseus had access to a Marauder like siege module,
but different… one that would reduce its “halo”, increase speed and agility, boost its defence
and pump up all resistances, guns DPS, optimal, and Active reppers regen rate…
The special zero-mass module is a starting point… the new module would take that technology and
mix it with the Marauder siege modules, but unlike both… instead of a FULL STOP…
it would DOUBLE ship speed and agility (whilst also providing some of both modules specialities)
like the signature radius BS only module (which lasts 10 secs, and gets 2 mins to recharge…)
only it just stays ON…
Only some very special Hull could fit this kind of module…
Odysseus is one of them…
Other Hulls could be BLACK OPS… and Marauders…
but not every module could work equally on every Hull…
Some kind of Hulls (like the Odysseus) could have “unexpected” bonuses
that would neither apply to BACK OPS fitted with the same module, or
Marauders… the module itself could have a different name for
each of the ship classes also… with slightly different tunings…
And no, Odysseus doesn’t need a module to increase its mobility. If anything it should get a “siege” module that reduces its signature radius and boosts sensor strength (to make it much trickier, but not impossible, to probe down), then ejects the player capsule, staying active for an hour or until the player re-boards the ship. That would let it function more like the mobile base they sold it as, you can get it into a wormhole, make yourself a safe bookmark, and leave the ship there to do some exploring/gas huffing/whatever in a less pricey Astero or Prospect, then come back and either restart the “siege” module or prepare to go back home (or deeper into anoikis). It would be important to tune the sig radius and sensor strength just right so that it’s difficult enough to probe down that not just anyone could do it (since it’s a very valuable hull and we actually do want players to risk leaving it behind during their daytrips). Think Slippery Pete.
Don’t forget the Doomsday weapon, the JumpDrive and the Tech3-Mining Mode which would allow the ship to field 8 Strip Miners with a 500% yield bonus! Make it really awesome!
It should also be 100% immune to all EWAR and Neutralizer effects and has a +100 Warp Core Strength! Don’t think small! And don’t listen to Naysayers!!!1111
Absolutely awesome! It should in general be permanently cloaked (undecloakable!) and nullified! How AWESOME would that be? We need a lot more totally awesome ships like this in the game!!!1111

The proposal to fire that thing up whilst leaving the ship for an Astero, and making it
basically unscannable would be a very sensible choice…

We need a high utility module for the Odysseus that is something unique…
and will make MORE players try and get out there…
It doesn’t mean, make me a 99,99% resist buff module, wit mirrors like EWAR powers,
that drenches other ships trying to suck my cap against a random someone else…
and multiply the power by 5, so anyone trying to cap me out, will get him and all his fleet member dry instead…
