Off-Topic Thread vol. 2

Nor the Ammatar; then as now, those who embraced God were saved, those who rejected his word struck down.

For all the falts of the Federation, and there are a whole lot of those, I’m gonna crack open a bottle of wine in it’s honor when your ‘divine’ message gets curbstomped by them. I already get to sit back and watch a bunch of monsters tear each other apart between the Trig’s, the Drifters and the Sansha.

I am hardly the person to care whether you agree or not with me on spiritual matters.

I did not present my view to convert you, or for it to be debated. Upon inquiry, I provided further information on a spiritual conviction I hold. Such information on a private matter is a gift, freely given, not pushed on you, but also not for you to spit on.

Only an Amarrian would be so rude as to inquire about someone’s convictions, and when given an answer, proceed to explain why it is false.

I also believe this:

The proper way to respond to information on another person’s spiritual beliefs is to share something of your own. The purpose of spiritual sharing is not to narrow the collection of beliefs until only one truth remains, but to make wide and free the appreciation of human complexity and spiritual experience.

A spiritual conviction can be opposed where it leads to conduct that is a threat. Even then it should not be argued; merely fought.

I do not question the truth of your Faith. Go with God.

Then it’s a purpose destined for failure. You can’t prove your faith to be objectively true, or hers false, any more than I can do the opposite. That’s the problem with the immaterial: it’s inherently untestable in any way that produces reliable, verifiable results.

Then I believe you have a discussion in your inbox that you’re overdue to continue by a few months, now.

The only way her beliefs could be a legitimate threat to the Empire would be if you think her beliefs might prove more persuasive than yours. Otherwise, it’s her actions that are a threat, not her beliefs.

A moment of clarity it would seem; next time you decide whether to stand at her shoulder, I pray that God grant you another.

I do not question that your Faith is true for you. I do not believe it is my right to argue you out of it or try to change your mind by substituting my own beliefs for yours.

However, where your beliefs lead to you trying to forcibly impose yours on me, or to conquer my people or their lands, or to enslave the free tribes, I will fight you.

Of course, as I do yours. We - my circles and yours - have fought over these things and no doubt will do it again. This is how the world is. Does it surprise you?

While I dont disagree with your overall assesment, I believe the marvels of modern technology has possibly given you a myopic view,

In regards to military coordination, while speed and communication made real time coordinating near impossible, I can think of a few.

pre-planned targets could be attacked simultaneously even across star systems with a set date and time, from that point evolving orders could be passed using a series of messenger frigates between fleets.

The details of that time are not suprisingly vague but the minmatar empire wasnt large so these methods could be achieved with relatively few resources used (a few dozen frigates) and the assumption that Amarr military officer training was adequate.

No, really, the word you’re looking for is ‘condensed’. Condensation (noun, the process) is how condensates (noun, the results of the process) condense (verb, past tense: condensed) into their liquid form. Condensation condenses condensates.

The Amarrian Orthodox Church, Sedevacantist condemns LUMEN’s horrifying treatment of Plumber Daniel. This worker, who only wanted to watch an entertaining, edifying holoreel, was instead tortured by LUMEN and condemned to a lifetime of slavery in the isogen mines of Tzvi. His “crime”? Bathwater diversion.

All faithful everywhere are encouraged to agitate for the release of Plumber Daniel from his unjust sentence.

According to the Inquisitor, “Plumber Daniel” received from you and distributed heretical and semi-pornographic holoreels which fetishized one of our pilots in degrading ways and denied the Empress, and he paid for these materials by illicitly smuggling her bathwater to YOU of all people for use in with your heretical little sect to be sold as “Holy Water”.

Heresy, Traitorism, Perversion, False Relics.

He’s getting off light with his sentence.

It’s ok. I won’t hold the ‘disservice’ against you.

I prayed God grant you further clarity; in his blessed and infinite wisdom he has granted honesty instead.

Your first instinct when approaching an avowed enemy of the Throne, Holy Amarr, and the Imperial Rite itself; is good faith cooperation— and as if that were not enough, you would prefer it not be necessary to oppose ‘she and hers’ too vehemently, is that to say that you would prefer they cease their many and varied crimes against Amarr? Or that others provide vehemence in your place?

Whatever the answer, you are an excellent representative of your organisation, Amicia Cora

By all means prevaricate when asked the simplest of questions, it serves only to explicate the chasm between what you are and what you proclaim.

Why should she even accept your question as valid? Rather than ask an open-ended question that allows her to tell you what she meant, you’ve given her a binary choice, A or B, with no room for anything else, while simultaneously telling her that regardless of which of your answers she chooses, you’ll find it inadequate.

It’s an insulting and dishonest method of discussion or argument, and the fact that choosing to ignore the Magician’s Choice you offer results in the exact same conclusion only illustrates your duplicitous and deceitful tactic.

Given that SFRIMs explicit recruitment message is that “SFRIM offers a home to those Faithful who feel a calling toward Reclamation through the gentler arts of diplomacy and outreach,” anyone performing surprise when their members follow the specific outreach pattern based in the ideals of the Pax Amarria that the corporation was founded to do is playing silly games.

But silly games are also no surprise. That the warzone pirates are capricious self-absorbed servants of Molok is not news to anyone who has paid any attention.

Odd way to spell Catiz I there.

The lack of seriousness is understandable, but it for the benefit of the less informed it is worth clarifying that Pax Amarria was based not upon the capitulation its staunchest Empyrean advocates demonstrate, but upon the premise that Holy Amarr is best served by a measured, realistic, and yes peaceful approach to international relations.

Anyone who asserts the subordination of Khimi Harar to Electus Matari to be in accordance with the Pax Amarria is a liar or an imbecile– I do not believe your former Chapter Master to be a liar.

LUMEN being subordinate to EM never happened.

But the groups you so hate LUMEN for flying alongside saved Amarr systems and millions of Amarr lives in the Triglavian Invasion, which seems to me to be exactly the point of continued diplomatic outreach.

Edit: This rehashes old, exhausted, ground though. Your words illustrate the same vile deceits designed to turn the faithful against one another that have been your hallmark for years.
