On the ndokassi discovery - who do you think has jurisdiction?

I accept no other pencils, and besides even the dummy ones are pointy. I speak as a veteran of the great pencil fight of the republic university class of 016.

And Teinyhr, there is always one or two that has to take things to far. One matari that feels no one but Brutor should touch what is in the containers or that it belongs in the hands of the Vherokior that found it. Perhaps i am being a tad pessimistic, but past events kinda colors my views here…

It is academia, all about jealousy and who gets funding for their pet project. It isn’t 2 nerds throwing pencils, it is one, Sukandi, on his own. Doubtless the university bars are full of archaeologists arguing the point, and pointing out Sukandi’s own failings as an archaeologist. It’s what they do. The news item makes no mention of either the Brutor, or Vherokior tribal leaders, or anyone else for that matter, coming out in support of either side. Galar-Yu has said, quite rightly, that they will open some of the containers under controlled conditions, and presumably publish the results, and invite the press. For the news service to label this an inter-tribal dispute is reckless, bad reporting and sensationalism.

Who I think Owns It: The Vherokior
Who gets to decide: Whoever wins the game of diplomatic chicken that is sure to occur.

My translator seems to have glitched out, I think it needs fixing…

This is now clearly a Sebiestor matter.

Well, what do you know, turns out it’s actually Sebiestor land? Figures, with me dismissing all territorial claims.

Fate is a ■■■■■■■ bastard.

Great, now everyone is invited to the ruckus.

Well, there’s still the Thukkers and Starkmanirs to become involved, right ?

How many of the ndokassi boxes belong to them, I wonder.

Oh don’t worry, I bet that info will come to light shortly. Probably that the boxes were sent by a Starkamanir Clan to a Thukker clan with instructions to hide them in a caravan or something.

If we’re going to have a family fight you have to involve all the relatives don’t you.

Naturally.

Anyway, looks like this’ll become the Council’s headache sooner or later, as more and more interest groups are involved. And if Gesila Fraemar was deliberately forging documents and hiding the manifest for self-serving interests, there’ll be criminal investigations and the whole shebang. Oh my.

Also, can’t help but be a little smug about guessing fairly close about the contents - not exactly plant seeds, but spores.

Of course, this means the Sebiestor are in the perfect position here to mediate. It was our clan on whose lands the discovery was made, yet we do not have an ownership claim by blood, placing us by Fate as an obvious proper temporary guardian of the artifacts. It neatly solves the legal issue. We also have the technical expertise to handle the objects with the care they deserve.

And yet, culturally significant spores. It’s all gone mad, I tell you, MAD!

Clearly, it is time to assert the traditional Sebiestor method for resolving this conflict is the only appropriate one:

Everyone gets to build battle-bots out of sticks, paper-mache, and nuclear warheads, and duke it out.

Of course Oveg Durst might claim that having that many mushroom spores is a bio-containment issue.

That meddling ■■■■■■ had better stay the hell out of this.

CONCORD should have absolutely no authority over tribal issues, especially on the ground. If he shows his ugly mug, call Ushra’khan, they dispatched him the last time…

Initially this did smell of a professional rivalry between the two circle’s who were trying to bluster their way into jurisdiction, however the proof of Fraemar’s deceit should disqualify his circles claim all together. The Tribal council (or the body selected) should oversee the transfer of the finds to Ihumanoana Circle at once.

Given the significance of the contents, however, I would also not be opposed to a decision by the Tribal Council for a joint circle initiative between the Brutor, Nefantar, and Krusual tribes as my fellow tribesmen, Sukandi Bjokurhas, has suggested.

Edit: It goes without saying that the Sebiestor farmer should be compensated for the use of his land.

A dispute over the fate of a rare cache of intact ndokassi artefacts has sharpened into an ethical controversy, after a whistleblower revealed lead archaeologist Gesila Fraemar’s claim that the manifest had been corrupted to be inaccurate and allegedly a deliberate deception.

I will gladly supply the pencils and rubber bands…

Also for the love of the gods Hapa, i have only heard stories about it. And Elsebeth is right, hand them over to Sebestior. We’ll figure them out, then everyone can get Hapa…

I agree with Cain Aloga on his suggestion of a solution.
