Testing out the new Opportunities menu, the progress bar does not update to tell you how far into completing the objective. I have done this with the Jump X number of gates and the Reprocess X volume of ore.
Please submit a bug report in-game, too, if you haven’t already. CCP devs tend to not spend a lot of time in the forums, so that’s the best way to show them issues.

Try filing it from inside the game? That shouldn’t send you to any outside links if you pick bug report.
