Pinning Windows

When you pin a window, where does it go? What does it get pinned to? I always have to go to the icons on the LHS to re-open it.

Pinning windows darkens them. I’m not sure if it makes any difference or not in retaining the location as they always seem to appear in the last known position.

They go to the bottom left part of the NeoCom (symbol bar). You can choose them with your mouse or via ctrl + tab.
