That’s a great point you’re trying to make here. I had been issued an objective with a few bullet points listed to allow me to write this thread. I am quiet positive that it is to our highest standards and the same reason why we fly under the radar as “We are the Frostpacker, high expectations are futile”
I must amend my calculations, the 20 hi-tech factories ARE possible to be built …but without a launchpad which make no sense ofc. One launchpad has 10k m3 capacity. 1 Bnode takes 50m3 upon output and requires 54m3 of space for 3 different input components (6 units each at 3m3/unit). As you see 1 Bnode uses less space than its input components so at least you don’t need to worry about clogging your storage with output.
-
With 1 launchpad 18 hi-tech Bnode factories can be built - output ~1.08 bill ISK/day
drawback: you need to supply and pickup 10k m3 of components every 10 hours -
With 2 launchpads 15 hi-tech Bnode factories can be built - output ~900 mill ISK/day
drawback: you need to supply and pickup 20k m3 of components every 24 hours -
With 3 launchpads 12 hi-tech Bnode factories can be built - output ~720 mill ISK/day
you should be able to supply 30k m3 of components every 46 hours.
Since one factory can output only to one storage you need to spread the output evenly over all the launchapds. You also should connect the inputs to the same storage output goes to ensure the space availability. Otherwise output can get clogged if connect to the slower input.
Pick smallest planets possible, so links between pins will be shorter and use less power and cpu. Allowing to build more. Closely packed setup looks like links are almost 0 km in length, but in fact upon inspection you will see 30 - 160 km depending on planet radius. The bigger the planet radius the longer the single link.
The 3 launchpad setup with 12 factories was calculated for a small planet with single link of 30km in length. If you get longer links you will only be able to build 11 factories.
Don’t forget you also need a factory planet(s) producing all 3 Bnode components types. You can split over 3 planets to keep up high output. This gives you 4 planets to maintain on 1 character. If you can maintain 6 planets, the 2 remaining won’t allow you to do much. Maybe some of the P2 components?
Most PI managers, probably buys lower level components off the market which eats into the ISK output ofc.
As you can see there is quite a lot to consider and maintain when doing PI ( → ), so it is not free passive ISK in a slightest. The ISK quotes do impress still.
I had been informed to complement you on your efforts to maintain the threads accurately and your reward will be to mention that as soon as the required materials had reach the planets surface they should be ready to then remove the landing platform.
This won’t be needed until completion, therefore a new launch platform can be built when that future date arrives.
Maintenance on the planet can also be conducted on the layout to ensure optimal performance is achieved.
Interesting, I was considering doing away with launchpads too, as factories have a capacity to store two loads of necessary input materials and route output to ComCent storage. You could use it to store up to 9 loads of input materials for Bnode, and 10 Bnodes. You would need to do something every hour to replete inputs and launch outputs at the same time to not lose it I think x1 launchpad option is less cumbersome. But I guess You Frostpackers won’t shy from such logistic challenges
