PLEASE DELETE THREAD. Question Answered. THANK YOU

I’m looking to fit my Venture for Mining in low-sec and want to minimize the risk of getting caught in a gatecamp. I’m primarily interested in Salvaging, Exploration and Mining.
My budget is not an issue. I’m currently at low skill in piloting and engineering but that will change as the months go by.
I’m considering focusing on maneuverability to improve my chances of escape. I’m also open to suggestions for tanking and utility modules.
Any tips or advice on fitting a Venture for gatecamp survival would be greatly appreciated!
Some specific questions:

  • What are the essential modules for a maneuverable Venture fit?
  • How can I balance tanking and speed in my fit?
  • Are there any specific skills that I should prioritize to improve my chances of escaping a gatecamp?

I’m eager to hear your thoughts and recommendations!

Cheap ship, cheap loss.
Ventures are great for Lowsec because they are very easy to obtain and fit. Also they have two stabilizers, but they are not very sturdy.
So a standard fit like this is still state of the art. You may change the Shield Extender to T1, then it costs less than 1m completely fitted.

In case you jump into a gatecamp, you basically have 3 choices:

  • Focus on agility and a very cheap ship. Means you fit 3x Nozzle Joint I rigs, so you get below 3sec aligntime. Fit a WarpCore Stabilizer into your Lowslot and activate it instantly when warping. Then pray they can’t bring 5 points of warp disruption on you in less than 3 seconds. Will be enough for a standard camp. Will fail if they have a remote-sebo HIC or Keres/Arazu with FactionScrams. If you lose the ship, it’s not a big deal, try another way into LowSec.

  • Fit expensive and learn to Cloak/MWD. Doesn’t work on an Alpha of course (can’t cloak). You can either use it to insta-warp once the MWD Cycle goes off, or you drift away under cloak while using the initial MWD boost. When you are far enough away so nobody can tackle you, align, uncloak, warp. Might fail if they have a very good decloaking Pilot (Ceptor, PirateFrig) with drones attached or they have a huge amount of trash around the gate (contaners, abandoned drones, corpses, wrecks etc…).

  • Fit Tank and hold the jumpcloak until your session change timer is over. Immediately burn back to the gate you came from and jump out, before they can chew through your hitpoints. I would suggest a 10MN compact Afterburner, because you can’t be stopped by a scrambler and it delays the lock of the damagedealers significantly. Might fail if they have a remote sensorboosted Daredevil or Vigilant (90% webs). You can combine the gatecrash with a cloak (Improved Cloak II), to instantly cloak on firing the AB. Chances are pretty high you can jump out before they kill you.

Good luck.

Thank you for the link, @Pierre_de_Bricassart
I shall research further on your reply, @Syzygium

In addition to the tips already given:

  • max out your skill levels for Navigation and for Spaceship Command (improves agility)
  • consider fitting inertial stabilizers and/or nanofiber internal structure in the low slots to optimize your time to go into warp. In addition, keep a mobile depot and the rest of your fit in your regular cargo hold, so you can refit once you find a suitable spot to mine.
  • best is to avoid gates altogether, especially the ones that go from high to low sec. Rather use wormholes (and if you’re very patient, the drifter wormhole network) to find a suitable entry point. Also in this case avoid the wormholes that lead directly from highsec into lowsec, but rather find an entry point a few steps deeper into the wormhole “chain”. That’s a bit more advanced stuff, but fun and safer.
  • on the way out, use dscan on gates and bounce off celestials, as per the usual routine.

Suggesting that the Venture be first fitter as a travel fit with 3 x Bulkhead Rigs, Damage Control and a 10 MN Afterburner.

Mine at speed and hull tank should also provide enough speed to avoid high damage from NPC’s

Thank uou for the added tips, @Wadiest_Yong
@Chad_Frostpacker Could you rephrase your information, please?

It’s really not that hard to work out, So a travel fit is a fit that can burn back to the gate and also orbit the asteroid at speed.
Also you want it as cheap at possible so you can not worry about losing it.

Thank you very much. I really appreciate that.

@Syzygium Thank you for the only reply in this thread that’s worth anything.
@Wadiest_Yong Your reply helped a lot, too.

Would you like for a simple donation to take away any future pain about some poorly fitted venture loss or are you ready to become a true minner of new eden?

wow you are so rude. As the best advice came from Wadiest Yong

Trying to bribe her Frostpacker? :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

@Jamelie_Aldrin accept no less than 1 bil ISK, that is the standard Frostpacker contribution.

@ISD_Drew Could you please clean up this thread of any off-topic posts?
I would appreciate it.
Thank you very much.

Aside of @Wadiest_Yong who you did mention @Pierre_de_Bricassart also provided useful info so not sure why you state that @Syzygium’s post was the only one worth anything.

:eyes:

Not sure how you expect people to provide help to you if you then proclaim their posts are “worthless” despite provided useful stuff.

Don’t worry, all the off-topic posts will be deleted by @ISD_Drew , he knows how.

So somehow the ISD will make you appreciate useful replies more in the future in opposition with what you currently wrote:

Yes, better get all your cheap shots out now because @ISD_Drew will be deleting all that mess you’re creating.

nah that reply was lame

Backseat moderating is against the rules. You can report posts and the ISD will decide what to do if there is anything to do to begin with.

And you dodging the question just shows that it is true, you disregard useful replies and take no accountability for it and just play the victim card.

Just FYI you are no victim and your behavior just gives further reason for people not to provide useful info as you just consider it “worthless”. for whatever reason.

It seems you are the victim of your own mindset if anything.
