Its not a combat site, its a hacking site. I’m basing that comment on a video I saw after I first encountered that escalation. The video I saw might be wrong. I haven’t tested it myself.
In EVE Online, the Derelict Research Complex is not immune to combat probes. There are no locations or sites in the game that can prevent combat probe scanning of ships, though it is possible to increase a ship’s resistance to probing.
The confusion may come from the mechanics of how exploration sites are found versus how player ships are scanned down.
AI says this…
i’ve never heard of an area being combat probe immune either… aside from entering and exiting the abyss.
Try to understand that some people will stake out a system and bookmark all the sites and then wait for someone to run the site, and be there when they do.
Gimping the probes will not change the outcome for you.
With the benefit of hindsight, its a poor title. maybe giving ships a ladar (or equivalent) buff for 1 hour after entering the escalation is a better suggestion.
Edit: or make ships in the site immune from dscan. they can still be probed down if they themselves are being lazy w/ dscan, but it gives cautious players a chance to save their escalation.
OR you accept that this is a competitive pvp sandbox and you adapt, adjust and react the other people in local. Why should very specifically YOUR activity be exempt from otherwise normal interactions?
You want the game to change so it makes up for your laziness and lack of understanding, for your personal benefit. And you don’t care one bit how that affects others or other play styles. You don’t care that this is a competitive sandbox, you just want to push buttan to receive bacon.
it would seem to me that the ones being laze are the ones waiting until 80% of the work is already done, furthermore the reason the double tengu incident didn’t show up on zkill is because I learned from my cyclone mistake. so please quit projecting your own inadequacies in public.
you called me lazy and ignorant. I’m not changing the subject, I’m addressing your accusations. I’m the one taking most of the risk, I’m just asking for my risk taking to be less tedious. I’ve tried to be constructive throughout this thread, and you’ve been nothing but snobbish and dismissive.
I’m simply stating the obvious. You’re doing a competitive play style in a competitive PvP sandbox and if someone outcompetes then instead of putting in the effort to get better (many suggestions given btw, by different people) but no: your choice is “make things easier me, at the cost of others”.
Why should anyone pander to you and validate you if you’re willing to have a major part of the game changed JUST so that you have it a bit easier. Why should you be exempt from the sandbox so you have more “fun”?
At which point should people go “HTFU”
Get better, get friends, get out of their way. Those are you options.
Instead of being vigilant about your surroundings and doing simple things such as looking at local numbers, and watching dscan/prob scan, you want to just kick your feet up and worry about PVE while streaming. Paying attention to the game you are playing is not much of an ask, but you can’t be bothered. Those who hunted you actually did work and are actively playing (read higher APM than you).
