Possibly returning to the game after (many) years out

Hey.

I’m thinking of returning to the game but have some questions.

  1. I used to run L5 Gallente Carrier missions. Are these still a thing and/or have they changed much?
  2. It seems incredibly expensive now at £15 per month. Given that I ‘was’ running three accounts this could be a barrier. Are there deals available for multiple accounts?
2a. I ran 9 characters but three of them (1 per account) were very highly skilled thus will be massively reduced without a sub)
  3. Is there still a decent player base?
  4. What is small/solo PvP like nowadays (I loved it but never flew much more than advanced frigates (can’t even remember the catagory name)
  5. How are things generally in game now that a ‘different’ company took over (a few years ago now I guess)
  6. After getting a new PC I removed all of my old Eve stuff. What out of game apps remain must haves (EFT/Assets/Character training etc).

Please do offer any further feedback/advice you might have for a returning player.

Regards

Barrak

Eve Online had received a major update where some older multibox pc setups no longer do so well with same hardware.

  1. 15$ and 15€ are quite normal for many years. If you go for a longer period, it’s cheaper per month.
2a. As long as they are Alpha most advanced skills are not useable, but they don’t vanish: As soon as you sub again, they work again.
  2. No, we are all unfriendly scumbags
  3. Advanced Frigs are still fun! Faction Warfare is lively content.
  4. Dunno, they merged the Chinese server to the Tranquility server, so it’s only one server again. Also prices have risen, as you already noticed.

Thanks for this. These were the missions I used to run.

Are they still viable?

There’s a multi-account discount where, if you register all the accounts to the same email, then the first (main) account to sub pays full price, and the others get a 25% discount on some subscriptions (eg. 1 month and 3 month, something like that).

Depending how long you plan to sub for, the longer term ones offer bigger discounts.

The current most cost-effective way to sub, is to buy a large Plex pack when Plex is on sale, then hold on to that Plex until there is a Plex discount on subs in the NES store. Then you sub with the Plex. If you buy a large Plex pack on one account, you can transfer Plex from it to the other accounts.
