Projectile Turrets have 220mm autocannons and 425mm autocannons. What is the difference?

In the projectile turrets section on the market there are artillery cannons and autocannons. I assume artillery cannons are for sniping and autocannons are for close up.
Under autocannons though, there are 220mm and 425mm. What is the difference? Looking at their descriptions didn’t answer accept one is for skirmishing and one is for blasting…

In our case - New Eden, it is just a smaller version of the large medium gun. You have three basic ship sizes, and they come with their weapons for their size.

You have always three variations on your guns, and you will always have a long-range gun and a short-range, but higher tracking gun.
The largest of your class guns will also have some drawbacks, for example the 425mm autocannon needs more room to fit on your ship, whereas the 220mm Vulcan cannon uses the same medium size ammo, but doesn’t require as much fitting space.
The smallest of your guns will usually have the highest tracking, but the shortest range, so keep that in mind.
Also keep in mind, that the ship specific bonus to guns, if one is present, requires the proper site of guns, so medium for the 425mm autocannon and 220mm Vulcan autocannon.
So for example, if you decide to fit small laser-turrets on your minmatar-boat, you will not get the bonus and the guns you fit are at their base range and base tracking, depending on your secondary weapon skills like range, tracking and capacitor usage if applicable.

Autocannons don’t require capacitor, so no need to concern yourself with capacitor use. Other guns do use capacitor, so if your capacitor gets too low, you may not be able to shoot anymore.

Basically, the smaller versions of your medium size guns offer fitting options.

Don’t look at the description, look at the traits. Then you notice that the 220 has much higher tracking, higher rate of fire, higher ammo capacity, but lower damage modifier, lower falloff and lower optimal range.

In simpler words: The 425 is the damage AC, the 220 the anti-smallship tracking AC.

Which do you think is better for t6 gamma abysalls?

The only ship I can imagine these on would be the Vagabond and I am not really sure if you can stay under the Time Limit in T6 with the damage of 220ers, especially since all the NPCs will get a 50% shield buff too.

Just try them in T5 and see which one serve you better?

I would probably look at the type of ships recommended for that Abyssal first.

The Broadsword also works.

Within the years of skilling required to fit and pilot a vagabond through a t6 abyss, though, I would assume the pros and cons of the primary armaments to become well known to the user before the t6 filament is cycled.
