I didn’t call anyone absurd. I said that complaining about the feature before it’s even available for testing is absurd. This is still a single shard universe where everyone can impact everyone, even if you can go into a filament for 15 or 20 minutes and do something else.
These features have been part of the game for close to two years now and the world hasn’t ended.

Filaments were a pretty weird idea. Gimmicky, even.
exactly, this is just WOW battlegrounds
so instead of improving the sandbox, which has actually been limited over the years, bring in battlegrounds for “pvp”
Proving conduit players actions do have influence on the eco-system. They buy and lose stuff. They spend time doing this instead of other activities. Some may not like battle arenas but that’s exactly what AT was and nobody was ever mad about that.

At least WoW BG you can just keep playing. Here, every second match you play (assuming the matchmaker works well), you have to go out and grind out a bunch of PvE to replace your ship. Or, you know, sell some PLEX. Don’t get mad at me, CCP, I’m quoting that in an academic context, because that’s what everybody is thinking when you pull a stunt like this.

But it does have an effect on the eco system, more mining more farming Amarr LP and more manufacture of navy slicers for those of us that make the toys PvP breaks
