I would settle with adding support for specialized holds when saving and loading fits. Load it up once, save the fit and then use “Fit ship” to load the same materials again. Useful for the different industrial ships (pi, ore, ammo, gas, minerals) and capital ships (fuel bay, fleet hangar). Just let us add whatever we want to a fit.
"We are making it much easier to haul PI commodities as well as it now requires fewer active inputs to manage since the space of all storage facilities and spaceports is effectively doubled.
- Volume of all PI commodities reduced by 50%."
NOW THIS IS AWESOME
Someone get the champagne and wine!
I predict more whine than wine.
A shame that PI now takes half the effort, interaction and hauling to create PI materials, I predict that unless we scale up our PI setups, we all will make less money with PI.
As a PI producer not happy with this PI nerf, the only people rejoicing are those who now can buy the products made with PI cheaper.
Excuse me, but why do you think that the price should fall sharply? will your planets produce more P0?
yes, you will interact less with the planet, but deposits will not increase on planets. the cost is only affected by the number of characters producing P0 and its market demand
With the amount of planets in EVE, PI has a near-unlimited supply.
The main limits to the supply of PI that hits the market are:
- omega accounts (max 18 planets per account)
- effort (resets, hauling)
The second limit, effort, just got cut in half. People can now haul twice as much PI, have to haul only half as often and can produce PI much longer without undocking.
Doing PI now takes less effort, which means:
- more people will be inclined to do PI
- people who were already spending effort doing PI will be inclined to do more PI for the same effort as before.
Both of those situations lead to an increased supply of PI. And an incrase of supply means a reduce in the PI prices.
people do PI for different reasons, one of them is earning ISK
If the price drops then they won’t do it. think again, it doesn’t matter how much you can transport, it matters how much you can produce. Yes. you can make 18 characters instead of 9, but you need an omega, if your account doesn’t bring you enough ISK you will quit.
10-15% the price will drop maybe because of the hauling. other factors did not change
While some quality of life improvements would be nice, can’t increase the outputs and therefore revenue it brings without also increasing risk to player somehow. Otherwise it would saturate the market similar to the reign of the Rorqual and it would only be profitable/worthwile for those who dedicate themselves to massive operations and multiple alts and can make profit by selling large quantities at low margins.
And PI definitely benefits from alts even if multiboxing them isn’t required. One can easily train alts enough to extract P1 then have main refine it all on factory planets.
you only need omega on the account, that account can have two alts producing PI for very low SP investment.
This is kinda the point though, they increased amount of stuff that used PI to produce which caused PI price to increase and therefore the products. they are now increasing availability to counteract this increase. Personnally I think its the wrong thing to do, they should have waited for market incentives to cause players to start producing more but I don’t think they have the patience. This would have been better since it would get more people in on the action, instead they really only made it easier for those already producing to make more which overall limits player interaction.
I believe that with the other changes (Vaccines, Tes-Cultures etc, needed for BPs) there are more opportunities for PI-specialists. The reduction in volume is a welcome efficiciency gain for haulers more than producers, making the supply-chain easier to manage.
Theyre other concepts like market saturation. Make PI easy to do make the value zero. Its an activitivy for PI enjoyers not for “I want pay my omega free with 10 minutes a day clicks enjoyers”.
Its perfect for me like it is right now.
the few things I wanted to change or add is:
say that I’m setting up on a gas planet. I need the following Ionic Solutions
Noble Gas and Base Metals. I wanted to see how many storage, extractors, processors, and launch pads i can deploy and how long I can have my links for the purpose of maximizing my output and meeting my objectives.
able to program my processor to cut of at certian time or count. Currnelty, I would have to calculate how much material I have divided by the material cost per hour and see if I can login by that time.
I understand that is what CCP believes but a player is already maxed to six PI setups. That itself limits the volume per alt regardless on how difficult it is. The clicking issue is unforeseen consequences that CCP is willing to acknowledge and can actually hurt the human wrist (from personal experience). No gaming feature should do that.
A simple solution would be to forward the raw material to a basic industry with one route. The multiple clicks are due to hardcoded amounts that CCP has decided are needed per route. It really has no value to CCP or to the players.
I also think extractors and basic industry should be combined at an additional cost, otherwise the raw is routed. CCP logic was good on industry levels except in regard to the need for a separate basic industry.
Waiting since 2010 …
Part of the feedback we get from the CSM (and many of you), is that we don’t put enough development time into features after they are released.
