[ Resolved ] Laptop won't open game after GPU Driven Pipeline update

Resolved: I had to revert back to DirectX 11 in the EVE Launcher.

Crashes to desktop after clicking Launch from the EVE Launcher. I’ve never had a problem before, even with low graphics settings, since my laptop doesn’t have a GPU. It reaches the character selection screen and then crashes to the desktop.

I’ve been playing since 2007.

Laptop: x64-based PC
Intel i7-8550U 1.80GHZ, 4 core

Same for me on my notebook after todays patch. EVE Launcher closes/crashes after the character screen. EVE LogLite showes an error msg “DX 12 device removed …” Only when switching to DirectX 11 the launcher starts the game.

Same problem here, but on Linux. Game just closes after a character is selected. Error points to directx12. Switching to directx11 in the launcher allows me to run the game.

Possibly related error message in console is:
vkd3d-proton:d3d12_command_signature_init_state_template_dgc: Root parameter 0 is not a raw VA. Cannot implement command signature which updates root descriptor.

@Irem_Orilis :i wouldn’t call running in directx11 a resolution of the problem. A workaround maybe, but not a resolution.

Same problem here. Laptop with integrated Intel UHD 620. Everything was working fine yesterday evening.

Switching back to DX11 does allows the game to boot, but with degraded performance.

EDIT: For me personally the issue is not resolved yet because of aforementioned degraded performance using DX11
