Scuttlebutt I’m getting (no promises on reliability) is a DDoS performed via ESI requests.

Are there plans to compensate players for having a prime-time (US) evening unplayable? SP or another day of Omega time?

Why would CCP have to “compensate” assuming the rumor of a server DDoS attack was the culprit. Go find who is to blame and shake them down for your lost time.

Have you ever provided a service that was pre-paid for, Skylar Cloud? Would you expect someone to be a happy customer if they paid you for a service, in advance, and then you didn’t deliver that service for any reason?

Customers understand technical difficulties and network attacks happen. Good businesses compensate downtime with a small token of appreciation for that understanding. Internet service providers do it all the time. Even free to play game services do it all the time.

Losing customers is worse for their bottom line in the long run rather than 1 day of Omega or a bundle of skill points.

yeah mobile games does, back when i played Lords Mobile, they would do that often giving you free stuff when the server had issues

To be honest, I’m just glad they were able to get the servers back at all, and if I had to “demand” compensation, 10k skill points would be sufficient for me.

Lol. If you wanna say that, fine. I know thry cant keep 100% uptime, and i dont expect something cause they couldnt. Especially if its not their fault.

I guess it happens when companies don’t have proper servers but use blackberry 8520 and iphones as servers

My question was not unreasonable. I’m sure they could quote the TOS, or they could do something nice for their customers after a bit of misfortune. I suppose it would be better to wait for a representative to answer, though from experience I’ll get better communication from a third-party website.

While CCP attempts to have the System available at most times, CCP does not guarantee that the System will always be available, or that the System will not become unavailable during Game play. The System may become unavailable for a number of reasons, including without limitation during the performance of maintenance to the System, for the implementation of new software, for emergency situations and due to equipment or telecommunications failures.

Does that snippet of the agreement answer my question? Are you a representative of CCP? I clearly understand you do not think players should be given any form of compensation. That is completely clear. Thank you for your hard work and response. My question remains.
