I give the benefit of the doubt and not assume it was a deliberate misspelling just to rile up emotions, that said still it is quite the embarrassment not just to make such a mistake regarding a sensitive subject but to be corrected by a @NotTheSmartestCookie at that. What a trainwreck already.
