So about a year ago I bought this RTX desktop and started playing Eve. Recently, after starting Eve the screen would go black, then after a bit the sound would stop and the machine would no longer respond.
I tried various fixes - messing with drivers, windows settings, disable browser using hardware acceleration, checking for overheating, reducing graphics demands with Eve in-game settings, nothing worked until I switched to Directx 11.
Now it works just as well as it did when I first started.
