I guess they want prices to go up, small guys to stop bothering while the multi-trillion guys clean up.
The jump is pretty crazy - nearly doubled.
I’m a ‘old’ returner and seems like I missed the messing about of tax rates.
In the past five years, the sales tax rate has been adjusted multiple times: from 2% to 5%, then down to 2.5%, up to 8%, reduced to 4.5% in mid-2024, and now back up from 4% to 7.5%.
If a central bank operated like that, everyone would think it was mental!
That only affects trades done via the ingame market interface. If you use contracts in game or implement a market outside of the game, you can completely bypass the tax.
Everything about industry is about using third party tools. Why should trading be different?
CCP is going the US way of dealing with valued trade partners.
Last year sales tax was decreased from 8% to 4% in July. They are undoing that change as they were unhappy with the results. Sales tax is one of the largest ISK sinks in the game. As others have stated though, you can get around it.
