Sansha Ships useless and gone?

So it’s been quite a few years since I’ve been playing this game, but back when I did I used to love the Sansha ships, but it seems like they are completely dead and useless now?

I really loved the Succubus and the Phantasm and really wanted to go for them again, but I mean if they are completly out of the meta I guess there is no point is just losing them

Anyone with more knowledge on this who can tell me what happened, or if they just forgot about them and parked them. It seems like there is 1 meta and everyone is flying the same 2-3 ships.

Which are?

Besides that, Pirate Ships were always niche ships, because they often demand a high price tag for a single trait that is superior to just navy versions of the same class. Very obvious they are not “meta”.

Phantasms can still be used in smallgang warfare or for robbing ESS with the highest chance to bail if someone comes to interfere. Nightmares are still used regulary in shield doctrines. Succubus always was a bit underperforming imho in the frigate meta, but thats not really my field of expertise on the other hand.

The only pirate ship in my hangar is a Nightmare, as it is one of my alliance’s doctrine ships.

As Syzygium said the afterburner bonus is also strong in the ESS where the Phantasm is one of the better choices if you wish to be able to run away when the response is too strong.

I don’t think Sansha ships are useless.

Who is forcing you to fly the Meta?

Unless an alliance is relying on a specific gimmick, I’ve rarely seen a doctrine so strict that you can’t bring something else.

Personally, flying Meta is stupid to me, because the prices for Meta ships and modules are always going to be higher than flying what’s comfortable. Just look at the prices of T3Ds after they announced the Crimson Harvest events were going to be aimed at them.

If they’re so ‘‘useless’’ and ‘‘dead’’ why does the Nightmare still cost 1.2b and are sold 20-30 hulls a day?

‘‘Out of meta’’. Maybe you need to think outside the ‘‘meta’’ for a change. No ship is useless. Every ship in EVE has its place. Sansha ships are great for a number of purposes. You can either experiment and see how you can integrate them into your game play, or you can keep watching twitch/youtube/whatever and only fly the ships you’re told are ‘‘in the meta’’. Whatever that even means.
