The game isn’t as simple as just pigeon holing people as either PVPer or PVEer, etc. (although carebears will whinge and whine no matter what style of play they prefer).
Multiple accounts make this a trivial issue.

What I find confusing and difficult to accept is someone who has as much experience and intelligence as you can not see beyond 1998 Ultima Online references to character playstyles.

It’s nothing more than “anyone involved in nonconsensual PVP is by default a degenerate and should be treated as such”, just with more smoke and mirrors. He took your “carebears” remark personal and lashed out.
