PRIVATE INSTANCES

Based on positive feedback, I’m now offering private Pathfinder instances that include these updates. First month with setup fee is 2 billion ISK (until Feb 1st 2025, I’m waiving the setup fee, so only 1 billion ISK for first month!) and recurring monthly fee is 1 billion ISK. For very large corps or alliances desiring a more powerful instance for improved performance, custom options are available.

WebSocket support
An existing experimental add-on for Pathfinder. Valuable when you have multiple pilots working in the same corp or alliance map at the same time.

Some of the tech changes I made. Not sure how this compares with other Pathfinder instances, except that these are not things the core package expects:

  • Running on PHP 8.3 and nginx
  • Updated several underlying modules for PHP 8.3 support
  • Also corrected errors in some underlying modules
  • WebSocket support for improved performance with active Corps and Alliances
  • Web server, cache, and database are all distinct servers allowing scale as needed
  • Web server fully restarts during Eve downtime for best performance

Private instances enjoy all of these features as well.

More than doubled the CPUs and RAM available across the cluster for private instances. Let the inquires keep coming…

Recently threw a few more cores at the cluster to increase slots for private instances.

If your recommended public Pathfinder isn’t responding, give me a try instead. Then consider upgrading to a private instance! My option for pricing by corp/alliance member count can get small to medium sized groups started at a lower price point than other options. And for medium to large groups, I offer fixed instance pricing.

I love it. I use this a lot, and make it easy to map my way through wormholes, and back to my home system. I don’t need a pen and paper anymore ! Highly recommended.

Only used other public Pathfinders until they recently shut down or could not be reached, so we gave this one a try when it appeared. Worked out well enough, so we looked into our own private Pathfinder once the flexible pricing was announced. We got a price that was about half of other options, so we took it and haven’t looked back!

Further reduction in private instance pricing as scale is improving.

Holiday Special now through 1 January 2025. Setup fee waived for private instances and first monthly payment due at the start of January!

As of today my retired public Pathfinder instance redirects to @EvePlanetsApp forum thread. I want to think EvePlanetsApp for offering the wormhole community a public Pathfinder instance free for everyone to use.

In response to this latest endorsement, I’m happy to announce the following changes –

  • I’ve thrown a little more power behind the public Pathfinder. Enjoy!
  • I’m continuing the offer to waive setup fees for private instances until the start of February!

Due to some technical issues, WebSocket support is now exclusively available for private instances. The public Pathfinder will only use the Ajax methods that most everyone is accustomed to.

Brought more private instances up recently and still have plenty of capacity available. Setup fees remain waived until 1st February!

Special thanks to Nokane Sunji for reporting a bug with the Thera routing. All systems with connections to Thera were incorrectly showing security 0.0 regardless of actual security.

A fix has been deployed to the public Pathfinder and after some more careful review will be applied to private instances soon.
