Alright, this happened twice now. This time I got killed because of it. The loss is just a dinky little magnate, so I’m not too salty about that. What I am salty about however is the peace of mind that was lost due to this happening twice now and I have no way of determining when it’s going to happen again.
Here’s what happened:
I was warping with the jump command towards a low-sec system that was en-route. The server was about to shut off for daily maintenance in like a minute, so I thought that I should probably just dock while I’m still in high-sec, so there won’t be any trouble. I was mid-warp, so still around 5 or so seconds until I arrived at the gate, plenty for the server to receive a stop command, so I pressed ctrl and bashed the space bar like 3-4 times to MAKE SURE that I make a mental note that I did it(Because of the gate warp thing happening regardless in the past that one time in nullsec.)
The screen says “Ship stopping” or something along those lines, I am looking at my other screen for a second, then the ship arrives at the gate and jumps. I was absolutely livid. Why? I bashed the damn stop button combination! Gatecamp in lowsec, I try to warp out, get insta-locked and insta-popped.
Now, again. If it weren’t for the server shutdown, I probably would’ve died there anyway, so I’m not too broken up about the ship loss… It was around 1mil, like… that’s not a big deal. What IS a big deal though, is that the ship SOMETIMES can’t be stopped from warping after the command has been issued. This is unacceptable.
Has someone else had this happen before? This is the second time this happened to me now. As soon as the server comes back up, I’m reporting this as a bug. Friggin’ unbelievable…
