Definition?
I see this on every eve survival mission description page, also listed as a percentage when I look up a specific NPC ship.

I believe it refers to the chance that one of the shots from the NPC missiles will be a defender missile (i.e. one that destroys a portion of incoming missile/rocket damage).
Not sure if they still do this or not though, have been using lasers most recently for NPC related activities.

Agreed, years ago NPC’s didn’t use Defender Missiles. Players could kite the NPC’s and inflict damage at ease.
Back within my first year of playing, I used a Hurricane Battlecruiser fit with 6x Medium Artillery guns split into 2 groups to apply long range damage along with 2x Heavy Missile Launchers firing Defender Missiles to knock out incoming NPC Missiles.
