Sig and speed info on target

Could we have like a signature and speed info about current target somewhere in selected target area? At least for NPCs and PVE overall. Would be cool with new UI changes for targets (and ship control) to have more info on selected target, better for newbies, more satisfying when using target painters, web etc when You see how those numbers are dropping.

That leads to also showing numbers of target shield, armour, structure HP dropping or rising with proper animations when changed. World of tanks is best case of how numbers with fluid animation changes are satisfying like hell, its a pleasure to see that

Speed is visible on your overview.

If you don’t have that visible already I really recommend you dedicate a column to see the speed of your enemies!

About the rest of the stats (sig size, shield and armor real numbers) I think this would give us a lot of information about the fit of the enemy ship. Too much information perhaps, without use of a ship scanner.

And it also doesn’t really make sense that we can see how many hitpoints some selected target has. How would we know all the details of that target? Should we be able to see someone is using a bait fit just by looking at their amount of hitpoints?

I personally don’t think the game would become more fun if we get this information. Let us keep falling for bait fits! Let us be able to surprise enemies with a fit they don’t expect!

What kind of animations are those?

I know that in EVE we can see when shield is hit or armor is hit. We can even see when armor is damaged or hull is damaged by the graphical damage our ship has taken.

And in addition to that EVE has really nice hull damage animations (or are they about to implement these? haven’t checked yet):

Im talking about HP animations (now we have that circles).

And yes i agree it should be only for NPCs not real players. Those are changes to give more satisfy for eyes when doing PVE (also NPCs avatars with some sentences from time to time)

Ah, so no graphics for the ship, but animations for the UI hitpoints.

But animations take time. Sometimes when under heavy fire and repairs you see the hitpoints go up and down in a fraction of a second. I’d rather see it update as fast as possible than to see it move in some animation.

I’m glad you agree it should be for players.

I however think that gameplay-wise NPCs should be more like players and not have special exceptions. So if something isn’t visible on players then I think it shouldn’t be visible on NPCs either.

But if you’re interested in stats of NPCs you can find some info in the database, like their signature size, optimal range and other stats. For example, this Blood Apostle:

Pretty useful if you wish to simulate how your ship is doing against such ships in Pyfa.

Signature radius should be a toggleable overview column.
