Pixel-sensitive sliders are very annoying to use. For those of you in CCP’s design team (if you ever read this post): When you are creating and applying textures (or do any type of 3D design work), do you use number inputs or pixel-sensitive sliders? My bet is on the numbers.
Symmetry and specific angles of textures and patterns (45, 30, 60, 90,…) usually bring beauty in every design and that’s a well known fact. On the other hand, in order to create lines of skins (same design for a number of different ships), having number inputs saves a lot of time.
With “Revenant” we are getting even more complexity with two layers of patterns and over time that complexity can only increase. Adding number inputs would greatly mitigate that complexity.
Yeah, and a couple of arrows left and right to better assist fine tuning also.
So we can just click instead of drag and drop.
And maybe add a SHIFT for slowing down the movement would also be nice.
Half the time I cant even get the number to 0.500 after i moved a slider. It just bounces between 0.48 and 5.04 no matter what i do. Makes the whole process take way longer, I have to play with the settings until i find what i want and then RESTART the process to get those sliders back to their default position. And if i grab the wrong slider, RESTART all over again.
Let’s just focus on the new enhancements coming out in Revenant. 2nd pattern with blend options, pattern edit/glitch fix (fingers crossed!), corporation, alliance and private SKIN listings.
