Ship SKINR feature requests II

First, thanks for rolling out SKINs targeted at corporations or characters on the Hub, works awesome for me.

I’d like to add that I’d love it soo much if I could see who I am selling my SKINs to on the Paragon Hub. I’d like to send “congratulations on your purchase” emails :slightly_smiling_face:

Also, I’d love it if I could create an icon to go with the SKIN, like regular SKINs have:

Thanks

You should join the EVE Discord and visit the SKINR section (under fun).

We have requested a log for the Paragon Hub, ie: list, edit, buy, sell, cancel, etc. Not sure where it is on the priority list, but the devs do know about it.

honestly I think the worst people in this comunity are the ones rewarding CCP for this monkey paw of a feature.

Um, I like SKINR. It’s not perfect - but they’ve made a massive amount of improvements with it since the initial release.

Monkey’s Paw best describes the Dailies.

we were originally promised custom skins and corp skins back in like 2012. We finally got it but have you seen how much it costs to outfit even a small corp in a corp skin? When they first pulled the bait and switch by charging us for skins it was justified by CCP having to pay the artists. Now they have the community artists paying CCP for the privilege. That’s about as monkey’s paw as you can get

Yes, the same as it costs to create any SKINs for personal use - the more elaborate the design - the greater the cost. Most of the designs for my battleship hulls cone in between 160-200 PLEX (not including design elements). I’m ok with this (but I do realize this is just me on a handful if hulls).

I know they’ve talked about this feature for years - I’m just glad it’s finally been implemented.

SKINR can be cheaper than some SKINs offered through the NES - and definitely less than what some of the rarer ones (some of which can be fairly bland) go for on the market.

I mean, one doesn’t have to use SKINR - it’s entirely optional.

I can’t speak for other groups, but we’ve had a lot of direct interaction with the SKINR team - and quite a few of the ideas and changes they’ve implemented were suggested by players. When you look at the short timeframe, they’ve been rolling out fixes, tweaks and new content almost weekly.

right so i direct you back to my first coment. There is no reason it should cost plex at all especially when players are doing the work.

here’s this great thing you wanted but here’s this unreasonable cost. what does that sound like?

Look, I’m not sure any if the devs currently working on SKINR were around way back whenever the idea was first proposed. If I had to guess, I’d say very few (if any).

So what is it you’re looking for out of SKINR exactly? And instead of falling back on “we were promised this” or “told it would be this” of “it should be this, try to appreciate that there has to be some compromise.

Same as most thing. for it not to be a cover for predatory marketing? the devs have nothing to do with it. I hight doubt they were the ones who though. “hey I bet morons would pay us to be artists”

That’s not entirely helpful. These are your SKINR feature requests?

For them not to require plex… yes

Sure, what’s your alternative suggestion to PLEX (I’m assuming something other than ISK, since you can convert ISK to PLEX).

If your suggestion is “free”, I hate to be the one to break it to you - ain’t gonna happen - so no point in complaining. If your suggestion is Evermarks - I’d point out that using PLEX and the Evermark private listing fee as a baseline, you’re looking at upwards of 100-150k Evermarks on most medium-sized hulls (± depending on hull and design complexity).

Firstly why? What about them requires there to be a cost at all?

Isk isn’t an issue, Turing it into an isk sink would over all just be a positive

I’m not sure there’s an answer I can give you that you’d be happy with. Short of “free” I don’t think you’ll be satisfied with anything else.

You can convert ISK to PLEX, so other than the inflationary aspect it’s kind of a moot argument (but this is no different than purchasing Omega or anything for PLEX in the NES store, either). Inflation is out of my hands.

It’s also unrealistic to expect that this would change from PLEX to ISK for… reasons. I would point them out but I don’t think you’re open to rational arguments here.

Please don’t take this as criticism, but you seem altogether jaded with the whole SKINR concept. I could point out all the positive improvements that have been made but I get the feeling that SKINR is still a lemon in your book.

Other than milking players what are the reasons?

Then give the ones i wouldn’t be

I think this is a non-starter. I like SKINR - you feel like it’s a scam. I’ve tried finding some middle ground but you’ve barely budged.

Are these two mutually exclusive?

Back to @Rivka_Mor. I know a feature request for a log for the Paragon Hub has been submitted, the SKINR dev team have acknowledged this and indicated it’s very high up on their priority list.

I assume if implemented it would entail everything that’s been requested to-date.

You tell me.

A good sytem can easily be put behind a predatory marketing strategy. So… no they aren’t.
