When producing Planetary Products, I think there should be skills that will affect the production speed as in normal industrial production.
Also, the capacity of PI warehouse buildings is very close to the capacity of the launchpad. I think it should be increased and the timer that occurs when we put items in it should be removed.
Finally, PI factory units should be put into automatic mode, so that they can automatically pull the components of the products that need to be produced in the warehouses they are connected to when they are found.
As your capsuleer isn’t at the planet during production it wouldn’t make logical sense for a skill to increase production speed like your capsuleer’s flight skills can push their ship to fly faster. What you can do to increase production speed is to install a higher tier command center with the Command Center Upgrades skill.
That skill allows you to use more factories or more extractor heads for higher production speed.
For the second question, while it is true that the 10k m3 of launchpads isn’t far behind the 12k m3 of storage facilities, the storage facilities only take a CPU load of 500 ft, where a launchpad requires a massive 3600 ft. I often like using launchpads for final storage, but fitting limitation and 20% more space is a good reason to use storages elsewhere. I think they’re fine.
Lastly I agree that setting up routes of input materials to the factories could be done more smoothly. It always was a pain to set the routes up.
However, I think the new PI templates also allow us to copy routes? I have yet to try them next time I set up all my planets again. If routes are indeed copied (someone please confirm) then I don’t see the necessity of automatically routing goods to factories. Setting it all up once and then copying the routes is good enough.
Thank you for your opinions. However, normal industry skills also affect this speed, not just limited to station advantages. So I think it would be good to think about it.
I 100% agree that this is a wonderful idea, however, I’d be happy if they just improved the interface. It looks like a 1st year intern put it together.
I do not quite agree on templates as a solution to routes. If you have a factory planet, using templates costs money. Changing routes manually costs time. Thankfully, the added ability to shift select production facilities and install new schematics is a better way to do this even though it is not as automatic as OP (and I) would like.
