Not gonna happen but you are welcome to run and do so when you win.
Cool idea but then it would be a pve pvp hybrid and . . .well to a certain extent what the we are trying not to have happen. Do we want a war that is choreography and smoke and predetermined or one where the battles will or will not happen according to the actions of players?
A couple of examples for you. There was an event when Dust 514 was part of the game where we battled to defend a planet or attack it, CCP slipped and the conclusion/results of the battle were clear for us all to see BEFORE the battle was waged. All our actions meant nothing because the finale was predetermined. Suppose CCP decided that the Imperium was becoming too powerful (it could happen) and used this war as a way to hit a bit of the reset button. As the war progressed changes could be made to make set areas at a disadvantage. Sudden changes that would make moving large assets harder, keeping them problematic. The end of the war would be decided before it even began and we could all just watch it play out. Me? I donât want that.
Second example was during an AT, remember those? A ship balance swept through DURING the AT making compositions change and have to adapt. The teams that had practiced and learned their ship inside and out now had to scramble to reset.
Sudden changes or those that obviously have an effect on a war made DURING the war will be seen as CCP trying for predetermined outcomes, again. WE are not asking for them not to make changes, just for them to make careful consideration so that a reasonable player would not see it as an act of meddling.
I know, I am asking a lot. Reasonable players, reading what was in the letter, believing me when I say that this is a reasonable thing as I do not have the time or inclination to do politics and metagaming.
The old Cynical Eve player I keep inside still whispers that this whole war could be 1) predetermined by the powerful players and organizations and (2) just a thing to keep the plebes busy or (3) not going to happen, anyways, as the self same power folks do not want to spend the energy or isk.
But another part of me is looking forward to finding out . . . to seeing huge battles and reading the propaganda from both sides.
as in the story of the two wolves? I feed the second me
