Over the last couple of weeks some folks have had fun making my life difficult through their actions. I have been inundated with complaints about killmail padders. You folks complaining wanted me to do something about it. So I did!
Characters, corporations and alliances, if you harbor entities that abuse the structure delivery mechanic to pad killmails then your entity will no longer be eligible for ranks. You will not be #1, #420, or even #98,726. Corporations and alliances, you can be ranked again by removing the character(s) from your group that are causing the problem. When this is done, let me know and I’ll remove the disqualification status. For the time being, this is a manual process.
Neat. I also believe that structure deliveries should require approval before they go into your hangar. For all I care with a toggle to not show the notification again.
Well that player who delivered thousands of random t1 ships to various players in sets of 2 to circumvent the anti-killboard padding measures to get the Cenotaph rank 1 sure did seem to care about zkillboard rank.
But now their rank (and the rank of their alliance) has been deleted!
Well, the rest of us don’t care. Never once have I looked at Zkill and said to myself, man I wish I had that player’s KD/R. I just make my billions oblivious to all else around me. The only players who give two shits about it are the ones trying to pad their own killboards.
Many of us don’t, however aside of the paddeers themselves (including crazy corp and alliance leadership) there are also the people with pixel fear who also seem to care about it, and a lot, like this example:
I myself try to educate people about it in my guide that losses are part of the game and so on but honestly I see little hope such people will change their mindset.
