Subject: Option to Disable or Move "You Are Already Managing X Targets" System Message

Dear CCP,

I’m writing as a long-time EVE Online player to express a small but persistent frustration regarding the center-screen system message:

“You are already managing X targets.”

While I understand that this message serves as important feedback, it would be extremely helpful if players were given the option to either:

  • Disable the message entirely (as with other notifications), or
  • Move it to a less intrusive part of the UI.

This fixed, unmovable message disrupts immersion and clutters the screen, especially during intense PvE or PvP encounters where awareness and visual clarity are crucial. Most other HUD elements can be moved or toggled — this one should be no exception.

Please consider adding this as an option in the ESC menu under UI or Notifications settings.

Kind regards,

Lol you can move it

look at your capacitor, see on the lower right the little “E Burger”?
click that for options, and the very bottom option, you can move the two message screens anywhere you wish.

Never noticed that option. But then again I’ve never needed it because I don’t try to target 37 things when I know my ship can only target 8…

same.

That field also displays stuff like “you can’t target anything because you are jammed”, “you cannot warp because you are tackled”, “you cannot jump because of smacktalking”, “you are out of targetting range” and so on.

Speaking of this option: In Moving Mode, you can also move the damage scroll around. However, since CCP introduced Photon, the Notification box in particular does not really sit where it’s supposed to be displayed. When I enter MM, the box usually shows up at the top edge of my screen, while I display these messages above the ewar states bar above capacitor. This is highly unintuitive.

Agreed, we should be able to disable many of those messages right in the center of the screen for Bob sake, they are extremely disruptive and many times are covering up relevant stuff

you. can. move. it.. i explained how

How will you receive the message that you are already managing 0 targets when jammed in intense PvE or PvP fights with clarity if this message is disabled?

I often find this a crucial message and do not see why I would hide or remove it.

Likewise I find it a useful reminder in parts of space with reduced targets like Pochven. If this message did not clearly show me my current reduced target limit I might even asume the game to be bugged or unresponsive while failing to target someone.

Clear communication is important. Why remove important messages?
