Suggestions for some buff changes to smartbomb‌

Smartbomb‌s currently have too low damage and too small area of effect, only covering a few kilometers around the ship, making them nearly useless in PVP. I suggest buffing smartbomb‌ damage and explosion radius. For balance purposes, we could increase their capacitor consumption or require extra expensive ammunition. To prevent everyone from spamming smartbomb‌s in fights, multiple smartbomb‌s could suffer stacking penalties just like other modules. This would greatly increase smartbomb‌ usage in PVP combat while avoiding overuse.

I see smartbombs being used as an anti-drone measure and to kill pods, and shuttles.

What do you want them to be able to do?

Try looking at this suggestion from the opposite perspective. What if what I actually want are the effects within those debuffs?

Any “problem” in EVE that you can solve with just throwing money at it, isn’t a “problem”.

Rich Groups simply warp a bunch of billion-isk-expensive Smartbomb BS right in the middle of an opposing fleet, burn another few (hundred) million in “expensive ammo” and laugh their ass off seeing them all die in a shiny explosion.
As is already done on some occasions wher Smartbombs are buffed (hint: Red Giant WHs).

Which would render them pretty much useless for all tactical purposes we have right now: Firewalling Missiles, DroneKiller-T3Cs, Pipebombing…

can it be that you are a bit… inexperienced… in PvP? (No offense, everyone needs to learn…).

Smartbombs may be niche but are certainly not useless in PvP.

So you want to make missiles and drones useless?

FYI both of those get destroyed by smartbombs and will much more easily be destroyed by smartbombs with larger radius and damage.

No other weapon system has stacking penalties.

Debuff generally refers to a temporary negative effect imposed on a player. What you’re talking about is a nerf.
