At this point I have to wonder how frigging careless some of you are being that a buff to T2 ammo is causing this level of buttmad.
Seriously, use a SLIGHT bit of caution and you are really no more or less likely to get ganked, because the gankers already have this worked out and the only way to avoid getting ganked is to not be there.
Hull based resists are not effected by the module nerf. So in terms of incoming damage its a pretty large buff to T2 ships with true T2 resists in terms of actual power balance.
You’re just some f1 monkey in Pandemic Horde. You wouldn’t know the terror that High-Sec ganking causes PVE players. Without PVE players, YOU wouldn’t be able to anchor and press f1. There would be no ships for you to anchor and press f1 with if PVE players didn’t make them. PVE players bring them to wherever you get them. PVE players are the backbone of this game and CCP has decided that it would be a miserable experience for them.
Ganking causes “terror” in high sec? Kid, you need to grow a spine. It’s a video game.
Am I correct in assuming you’re talking about highsec PvE players? Because of your original comment about “terror” that ganking causes in highsec players.
Because given the actual data from CCP in their Monthly Economic Reports, it seems like highsec PvE is nothing more than blip in the grand scheme of EVE Online. Nullsec appears to take charge both in terms of Mining and in terms of NPC Bounties.
Nah … they “tried” that at World of Tanks with the Tier 8 Gold tanks … you can see these Players ragequit everyday when they realize, that their shiny 40 Euro tank isn’t an automatic win. Those Players that start from the beginning, in case of WoT Tier 1 and grind their way up, are the Players that evolve into better Players.
Same goes with EVE and the skillinjectors. You shouldn’t be able to fly e.g. T2 HAC from the beginning, because you will suck and in doing so get frustrated. Since everything nowadays is basically available at any instance, These Players will (rage-)quit to never come back. Very few of These will take advice from more Senior Players and e.g. start with lvl 1 missions, or frigs for pvp.
Just my 2 Cents and ■■■■ the autocorrectur
Uh, what does any of that have to do with starting newbies off in cruisers instead of frigates, and they can then start training into frigates or battleships, or specialise in cruisers.
If you want to use the WoT example, this is the equivalent of starting everyone off in T1 Medium tanks, with Light Tanks & Heavy tanks branching off the medium tank line.
At no point did I ever suggest that they should start with T2 ships like HACs. So I don’t get why you brought that into the question.
The equivalent of this would be in WoT, that everyone starts with a T6 tank (no matter whether light, medium, heavy, TD or arty). But it’s Tier 6 that is the Point you have to reach in order to learn the game. Up from Tier 1, because if you hurry or even jump the curve by buying some shiny Tier 8 tank you will suck.
In EVE Terms. Flying a Cruiser Need much more skills (skillwise as well as handling wise) then a frig or destroyer. Having a T1 Cruiser available wouldn’t enable me to do lvl 3 missions, as I would have to do all those former missions for the Standing. So now I sit in a new Cruiser with my Mighty 200mm ac and have to do lvl 1 missions … ok, so be it … but ■■■■. I Always miss the rats that tear my Mighty Cruiser apart. ragequit. In EVE each and every ship class has ist role. Cruisers are for Cruisers Content (beginning lvl 3 missions). But for Cruisers I don’t just Need the skill to fly that ship but also the engerniering skills to be cap stable, I Need medium weapon skills, I Need drone skills etc etc … you want to give all those skills nessessary to those new Players ? For what ?
These are my 2 Cents and autocorrectur still sucks and writing Long Texts on mobile too
Uh no it’s not.
Cruisers with starting skills are just like Frigates with starting skills.
Frigates you need engineering skills to be cap stable, you need drone skills, you need small weapon skills etc.
It would be no different to flying a frigate.
P.S. Medium weapons can track frigates just fine, and cruisers have more buffer to be more forgiving.
Ok … so you fly your cruisers like frigs and I will fly them like Cruisers. Point taken. Where do we meet? I would like to Show you the diff between a frig and a Cruiser.
You made my day even normal belt rats will tear you apart (at least in NS, dunno HS) when you try to kill them with your almighty 200 mm acs. Maybe you can kill one or two when they close in, but then you are toats for you won’t hit a Thing … called tracking and since most newbros don’t know a ■■■■ About tracking they will just suck in the game. Believe me or not… but there is a reason why People start in frigs. Because if your frigs blows up you just buy the next one. At Cruiser-Level and up this might become a bit more difficult for Beginners.
pat pat
Sure thing tough guy. Look, obviously there are differences, when I said it would be like flying a frigate I was referring to all the things I listed above. I mistakenly assumed that you would be able to actually infer context into my statement, when apparently you simply can’t handle that.
As for the second bit. Humour me. Make an alpha, train it into cruisers and medium guns. Take it to a high sec belt. And see how you go and how long you have to warp off if you get into trouble.
Talking about Null Sec rats is pointless because they also tear apart a newbie frigate, so the fact they would rip apart a newbie cruiser is meaningless.
I would do this also, but I’m currently not able to log into EVE due to lack of stable internet.
P.S. I think you mean dual 180’s btw. If you want to get smart alec. 200’s I’m pretty sure are a Frig weapon.
You noticed the character-portrait? Not guy but Girl
Lets say … you have your Point, I have my Point and CCP won’t give a Cruiser to newbros because it makes no sense from their Point of view.
Cheers
P.S.: You are Right … currently Building a Vexor so I had 200mm hybrid in mind not autocannon. pointtaken.
This is unrelated.
Literally you are stupidity padding. You are adding a lot of words without a sense in order to make something stupid look like having one ; but it does not.
I said “the impact on the tank is the same whatever your base resist”. And you say “no because base resist count a lot more”. That’s just garbage nonsense.
