Surgical Strike – Coming 15 April

too true, too true! Thank you for a good laugh.

It is even more fun running on a Macintosh!

As the only bit worth responding to.
I’m sure CCP have done simulations and predictions. But we as players have about 300,000 brains (last estimate I saw). They only have about 120. They can’t plan around player behaviour accurately, and can’t predict what content we will find weird & whacky ways to still complete.
And if we find ways to work around and still make it happen, it doesn’t need adjusting if sufficient people can still complete the content. So that’s why they have to monitor, is to actually see which content we are able to compensate for & in what ways, and which content we can’t.

The really sad part is that CCP is outnumbered, as others and myself have said for years now. There is no way a human being will not find a the best way to break/cheat/lie/steal/or use a situation to their advantage in any conflict. Be it pvp or market trading.

CCP seems to be trying at least. :grinning:

So turn EVE in to a pay to win game, instead of a sandbox game.

EVE has never been solely PVP, from day one its had industry and PVE, these are two different things.

Classing mining, manufacturing and transporting as PVE is made by idiots.
These three roles are the backbone of PVP’s war machine, thing of any real world war there is a whole industry supporting it. If there was none, wars would be done by throwing stones and sticks, but even that requires a industry to source these items.

PVE is only relating to NPC missions and Rat sites, has nothing to industry.

Rule 1 of business - the unsatisfied complain the most

Rule 2 of business - you do not hear from satisfied customers nearly as much and usually when something goes wrong that they need help with

In other words. Most happy players, heck most unhappy players even, are not putting time into the forums. It is the vocal minorities that speak up on the forums and this has pretty much been a rule of thumb for every game I have ever played and participated in the forums to some extent.

That doesn’t make the complaints less relevant or less real. It’s not good to underestimate players’ intelligence or craftiness, or their feelings and enjoyment when “using this commercial product”. We’ll see how it plays out.

Once again, a flat nerf to income generation, regardless of where the major faucets and related play styles are or why, a flat nerf on ships, regardless of which meta is creating the problems, doesn’t it look like the imaginary miracle medicine ?

There is nothing “Surgical” about a sledgehammer approach.

Anyone notice how quiet CCP is being about this “update” hardly any press or notice that it’s going to happen at all. 1869 messages and the lot of the negative? CCP wants the “update” to pass quietly in the night.

I have noticed yes, it is nice to keep an air of mystery about it though i am highly confused as to why so many negative comments when clearly NO ONE actually knows whats coming but ccp themselves; just proves that most people who complain on eve-o forums will maon about anything even though they dont have a scooby doo whats actually happening.

I really wish they weren’t quite so severe, because as someone who is trying to get into hunting, if they nerf supers so hard nobody undocks them outside of completely necessary deployments, then that’s less targets to hunt., combined with the mineral nerfs and it might end up with less dead supers instead of more.

where is the flat nerf. some areas got a buff with increased dps

There is only a couple areas that you are using SR amm, particularly T2 …invasions and incursions.

a nd what do you think the aim here is…

To correct the issue of supercap proliferation caused by allowing them to dock.

a nice slogan on a manager’s flip chart with an open interpretation, a quickly concocted concept in a team, a vague idea on how to implement it, and depending on the number of bugs introduced maybe a poor production ?

And if you honestly believe all that I hear tinfoil stocks are good to invest in

I don’t think it is unintended. All changes just have one goal: reduce the amount of money in the game, making everything more expensive and make it harder to plex accounts.
Moons have been nerfed, Veldspar has been removed from Null. With the changes to resistances PVP will produce more losses and PVE will be harder.
And dont’t forget the Hypernet-crap with it’s fees. All they are trying to do is to deflate the ISK and create resource shortages to make everything harder and increase the grind in the game.
They don’t fix the chat system though.

That’s just complete stupidity.

It’s probably just going to shift to large alpha kiting fleets

Armor Layering may become more useful, as an alternative to stacking Energized Adaptive Nano Membranes.
