Just another form of HP tanking
Get HP high enough you could do a nice shield HP passive regen tank.

Or stay docked up because prices have been going up making our ships more worthy of a suicide gank.
I can see a few corps doing that with Titans and Super Caps.
Other than supplying components and blueprints
Passive Shield Tanks are great. I’m simply saying, an Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane will be less inviting to stack with Penalties…Leading to Plate/Layering/Core rig fits, to offset the loss in Resistance, to maintain the same HP. Since there is not an increase in Power, Layering is a great swap for Membranes, to increase the amount of armor. This may help get you back near Pre-nerf HPs, but probably not increase them.
Gallente Battleships are looking even better, with their Larger Structure HP & Bonuses to Blasters.
Yip the reduction in resistance with stacking will make fights tighter, and yip extra HP will be good.
Though i would advise to watch velocity drops from Armour Plates, maybe look at 1 armour plate and then Trimark RIGs and Energized Armour Layering to push the Armour Plates further without the major loose to velocity.
True, though there are the Brawler Battleships that gain % to resistance per level of battleship, that and lvl5 compression to shield/armour will help a little.
The ones that will feel the loose the most are the A-Type and Officer module users. At they will feel the lose the most. Anyone mounting B-type or lower can count the effect a bit be upgrading to the next one up.
But A-type modules have very limited option of upgrade into officer modules and officer modules only have one officer module above all others.
The other option is to run spider fleets.
So, the Nestor and the Rattlesnake? Not what I would call brawlers. ^^
T1 and Faction BSs are also getting a 10% all around HP Buff. Plus, with Blasters being the Beasts of Brawling, Gallente BSs are looking Real Nice.
fury RHML gained a bonus recently IIRC. Rage torpedo will gain but… lol ^^
Amarr has a good Brawling BS. But its more personal preference.
The 10% to shield, armour and hull HP isn’t just to the T1 and Factional BS’s, but also the T2’s too now. So BlackOps and Marauders finally get boost they’ve need for a while to hopefully make them worth using again.
Try again.
The HP buff isn’t applied to the T2. They only get a scan res bonus. So they actually will have less HP than some of the T1’s.
Got that mistaken with the HP bonus to freighters.
The scan rez has been increased from 30% to 40% now.
New specs are up;
Increased Scan Resolution by 30% for Marauders and Black Ops
CCP has listed all the modules with their new resistances. https://www.eveonline.com/article/q8tteh/patch-notes-for-18-04-release
Damn I hate nerfs!
I haven’t really tooled around with any fits yet, but since rigs and DCs are unaffected by the resist changes to all other mods, I’m really considering just full on t2 resist rigging a lot of my PVE fits… moving some resists from midslot or lowslot mods, IOW, to rigs… which means less room for core defense rigs or trimarks, but… hey, that’s what shield extenders and plates are for in those mid/low slots.
interesting thing though, CCP does give a single run cruiser bpc to new characters now. I started one up a few months ago and it got a maller bpc after like 15 days of logins. Granted I had to actually get the minerals and build it, but after 15 days of dong stuff in a frigate/destroyer that wasnt an obstacle at all
Very well said… although, the suggestion to nerf cloaking doesn’t just affect the PVPer who likes to camp gates cloaked. It would also handicap the PVEer’s who like to explore/navigate low/null-sec and wormhole space in relative safety. In the end they way cloaking works right now is balanced between the two playstyles so I really can’t see how nerfing it’s mechanics is really going to benefit anyone… Well other than ALPHA’s that is.
Eve may be primarily PVP, but there are a lot of us, myself included who prefer the PVE aspects of the game. I’ve been working towards the skills for a ship that can run C4 wormhole combat sites solo for months now, only to find out that my plan is out the window - the tank won’t hold with these nerfs to resistance. Just another reason I’m thinking of leaving eve for a more PVE-centric game.
ive just got my 1st super and grinded my way to half the cost of my 1st titan which cost me almost 7bil for the dam book while all this time training skills that require months to get to lvl 4 and 5 all this is now useless like my rorq which is now a glorified jump freighter. im not new to eve but no old either but i think we are headed in the wrong direction at 1st glance.
Wormhole content was always intended to be group content, especially at the higher end. Just because people figured out a way to do it solo by stacking ridiculous fits, doesn’t make it any less so. What you feel entitled to do was never a design consideration. All that’s happening is that they’re finally adjusting the game to reflect risk and reward more properly.
Bring a friend with you, and you’ll be just fine.
A ship that takes you months of grinding to acquire isn’t a ship you should be using anyway. All that’s going to happen is that you’ll get the ship, lose it, and then quit anyway because you won’t be able to deal with the loss.
