Maybe take your own advice some time?
I can run L4 missions in a cap-stable ishtar with dual medium armor reps. It’s useful from time to time when an agent gives you a mission in lowsec or something easy that you would prefer a smaller ship for. I probably can’t run all of them and wouldn’t even bother trying on a mission like blockade. Even if I could it would be too inefficient when there are better ships for the job.
Basically fit a kronos much like a megathron? The rails vs blasters is really preference… I’m finishing up training to get one in the next few weeks.
I was running L4s in a blaster fit Ishtar without too much trouble, usually. For drone missions I had to kind of lure some out at a time. Trying to run in and brawl with them like most of the other missions cost me a HAC lol.
Right now I’m running a Megathron navy issue fit with rails. I finish missions slower than a blaster boat probably would but faster than the hac, and it’s a lot safer sniping.
If you start out 140km away (using spike) you can pop the frigates with one volley, and the cruisers in 3-5 depending on how tanky they are.
Then I swap to javelin ammo and micro jump right on top of the battleships. You can shred them form 8k away or even less, and at that distance the drones are fast as hell because the big slow ones don’t need to go 50km just to get at the target. Optimal range with my setup is 18km with javelin but it does a ton of damage anywhere inside that optimal.
It also helps to poiht your ship in the same direction as the enemy BS so you get the transversal velocity down to nil . It helps a lot with tracking.
Hope this helps?
