Talos Burner Mission Fit help

I just completed my first Burner mission using this fit :

[Enyo, Enyo]
Small Armor Repairer II
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II

1MN Afterburner II
Fleeting Compact Stasis Webifier
Eutectic Compact Cap Recharger

Light Neutron Blaster II
Light Neutron Blaster II
Light Neutron Blaster II
Light Neutron Blaster II

Small Hybrid Burst Aerator II
Small Capacitor Control Circuit I

Hobgoblin II x1

Void S x3140

I normally use this fit to run normal level 4 missions when I want a break from battleships and HAC, so it needs some tweaking. I was successful but barely. When I was in orbit around my first target I took some heavy damage. I assume it was because to maintain the orbit I needed the ship slowed down.

Here is my new fit, any tips on it would be helpful.

Light Neutron Blaster II

Small Hybrid Burst Aerator II
Small Low Friction Nozzle Joints II

Hobgoblin II x1

Void S x3140

Not sure if this will be enough to maintain speed, I was thinking I could drop a Magnetic Field Stabilizer II for a Nanofiber internal structure. Dps is about 460 as is, drops to about 423 after dropping the magnetic field stabilizer.

use a mwd, drop a mag stab for more armor tank

test this one

You can also drop the hardener for a ADC, increases your tank and allow you to facetank the first one . You’ll need to use two compact cap rechargers though.

So is it most likely I’m going to get hit from time to time no matter what? Regardless of orbit speed/ sign radius?

MWD great up till I get into orbit. I assume I shut it off and that’s were the extra tank comes in?

you always have a % chance to be shot. this % chance increase with your sig and decreases with your angular speed.

for the talos 400km from you , your angular speed is very low when you are orbiting your target and facing him. Then there may be a 1/10000 chance per shot to hit, but this hit will deal 300% DPS IIRC.

I do that mission in vagabond. The drones get 1-shot here and there, but most often when they stop moving. You should have more tank, more speed, than T1 hobs. Don’t stand still, don’t approach in straight line, and you should be okay

Thanks for the info. I read about using the vagabond, I wanted to try in a cheaper ship/fit before spending more isk. Watched a video were someone did it with a daredevil so I gave my Enyo a try. Thankfully it worked. just looking to tweak it for more success. Thanks again.

I used the Phantasm for that one. The afterburner bonus helps a lot to cover the distances between the Taloses.

I use a Harpy for that mission with this fit:

4 light Neutron Blasters

5 mn y-t8 mwd
1 mn y-s8 afterburner
small c5-l shield booster

3 magnetic stabs II

1 small hybrid burst aerator II
1 anti-kinetic shield II

Void ammo

394 dps unheated, should not have to heat at all to melt each Talos. Use mwd and zig zag to get to 20km, switch to ab and orbit in close. Taloses almost never hit me, but I am a poor flying pilot and sometimes trigger a sentry gun or two, hence the shield booster. Also, the Harpy has natural Kin/Ther resists which is what the Talos should be firing.

The mid slots except the two props can be switched to whatever you desire, I just find the shield booster easier. Have used this fit 30+ times and haven’t come close to dying or even losing shield tank.

can i see fit?

Nope, you can not.

top secret?=)

I recommend a HAC. It will burn through them much faster and make you way less vulnerable to human error. Assault damage control is very good for when people try and suicide gank or for looting the first wreck. Will take a bit longer to get to the targets but I think the dps of a deimos makes up for it.

Thanks for the suggestion. One thing I like about an assult frigate is the the cost and sig radius. Some risk involved but with a HAC sounds like I definitely will get hit a lot. I am new to burner missions so thanks.

I just did the angel escort mission recently. Lost an experiment, then went with with the standard vigilance. No problem after that.

You will get hit by the one you’re approaching but the thing is with the tech II resist profile of a deimos and kinetic/thermal hardeners and medium rep you can just tank it no problem. I run a Cerberus straight line, after veering away from the minefield that is. Also if you just steer slightly off to a direction they won’t even hit the cruiser. They use spike ammo which has atrocious tracking.

Tbh maybe it wouldn’t be as effective as the Cerberus because the deimos has to slow down to hit with neutrons while missiles just go… idk.

Since you are new to this, I suggest you log on the test server and try the missions there. That way you can lose expensive things if things go sideways or use the /moveme command to move out of the mission and fit differently.

Then you will know what to do in the live server.

Never used the test server. Can I hand pick missions? Do I just use the skills I have? Or can I choose skills?

Oh yes you can. It is basically a copy of the live server but with the caveat that you can buy stuff for 100 isk per unit, so you don’t need to worry about making isk.

There are many stations in highsec seeded with the 100 isk price tag and you have the “/moveme” command, which opens a list of solar systems, where you can jump to in an instant.

I used that feature for an agent in Penirgman, near Amarr and when something went very sideways in a burner mission, I would use the “moveme” command to get back to Amarr and change the fit I was flying.

All faction and deadspace modules are seeded too, so you can buy them for 100 isk.

If you cannot talk to an agent, you can use the /booststandings command to get a +10 standing to all factions in New Eden, even the pirate ones.

The list of command you can use on Singularity (SiSi):

/moveme
/boostsov
/booststandings
/copyskills (from the live server)

You have to enter those command as I listed them in any chat channel and press ENTER to confirm.

I ran it in this earlier, have to keep the ab on but caps good as mostly they miss anyway. This would be assuming you know how to spiral in like a tackler would; if you dont you will probably die adc or not. Took about 10 minutes.
And yes, its the same fit i use for the hawk team, and with slight refits the worm and vengeance too - can run the enyo but omg what a pita. It wont run the cruor, the dram, dd or the jaguar team.
