i rather be friends with someone who is honestly unfriendly sometimes, like Kane, than all these fake friendly people everywhere else.

Still not sure what you are smoking.
IMO making highly populated areas more uncomfortable to live in, will just make people leave the game, who can’t or don’t want to circumvent consequences (with alts). If all the “lazy” and poor people leave the game, no one is left to sell to or kill for the “smart” rest.
We will probably never know, but I would bet there is a ■■■■ load of reimbursement inquiries to be handled by GMs lately …
helicopert parenting is imho an parental adiction … had to deal with one parent being this way.
i think ccp is doing it for other reason than for getting out of some parental addiction.
You leave.
I stay.
New ones come.
Imagine this: there’s a market for an actual sci-fi space MMO like in movies/series, with actual dangers and actual people one has to play with! (ignoring NewSpace™ here)
No one would EVER want to play this, right?
This is an illusion. Nobody likes dangers which can’t be avoided … you are only requesting this as the ideal because you can avoid / circumvent / profit from this dangerous situations by your knowledge, cleverness and willing to invest. But I don’t want my EvE to be filled only with smart people like you.
Why do you add a word I’ve never used, nor implied?
Nevermind, I get it.
I don’t have any especial antipathy toward Kane. I just don’t consider him the heroic figure that some of the posters here seem to. But, it’s very true that he achieved a lot of fame and notoriety in Eve and created well-known Cannibal Kane “brand name” That’s that’s quite an accomplishment, for one individual player out of tens of thousands.
This is a man who acts in his own best interest.

Hey now, don;t put me in that basket, I’m in WH space. But even I can see the massive issues with what was proposed. Your also greatly mistaken if you think losing 20-50% of the playerbase is no big deal and will recover. Eve is bleeding players constantly these days, and has been for years. And is no longer getting influxes of new players like it once was, which is the reason CCP is making desperate changes like expanded alpha clones. Eve may not, and indeed likely won’t rebound from another mass exodus event like greed-is-good gate. Could I be wrong? Sure, but I know the odds are vastly in my prediction’s favor.
While you may support the idea on personal grounds or even just because it would spice things up. (And I 100% agree with you that it definitely would.) It would be detrimental for the health of the game. And we can’t play this game when it has no players left to pay to keep it running, we can’t run that many alt accounts.’
In simple terms, players leave, new ones WONT be coming to replace them. Not anymore.
We already lost a good portion buttloadof players since 2003. We’ve lost most of the hardcore ones who made this game a thing in the first place. We’ve lost a damn lot of content creators in highsec. We’ve also gained tons of players from the Brave Newbies movement, and gained even more through the copycats KarmaFleet and Pandemic Horde. CCP didn’t make a desperate move, they simply took a concept that works (concentrating on nullsec, who have managed to gain people despite, and not because of, CCP’s doings) and expanded on it. The game isn’t bleeding playersat all, other timezones than the US/EU overlapping prime time gained players. When the PCU drops, all it means is that USEU overlap has been reduced, which is okay tbh, because that’s where most carebears come from anyway.
We’ve had account consolidations and a noticable ban wave some years ago, reducing the amount of people. CCP banned 23k accounts (Hi CCP Peligro), all botters, which will also cause a visible dip for a while. There is literally nothing to see, you’re simply being influenced by the constant ■■■■■■■■ of those who want to push their carebear narrative. Right now there are 23k accounts online. That was unthinkable just a few years ago and shows that everything is okay! Instead of concentrating on the silly PCU, more focus needs to be put on all the other timezones. If the PCU went down by 10k, but each and every other TZ went down by 5k each, there would still be people who scream DOOM!!!111, simply because they’re not seeing outside the box of the PCU.
From my perspective, getting rid of US players in favour of more hardcore (as in: hard game, not addicted) europeans and nz/australians (G’day mates, you’re the best! :D) would be a good thing. Thinking that there aren’t any new people sticking is silly. Just looking at reddit posts from new players, or looking into the new player forum here, or looking into the horrible rookie-help would prove you wrong.
The Box, my friend. Open it and take a peek outside.
Unfortunately the facts don’t support that, but I respect you for sticking to and supporting the game you love. Eve has been in decline every single year since 2012 I believe it was, can I prove this 100% beyond all doubt? No, the reason being that’s when CCP started hiding player subscription information intentionally because it has been in steady decline. (They used to announce the subs quarterly before then as they steadily climbed, they were proud of that fact.)
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not crying “EVE IS DOOOOOOMED” on the street corner. But it is slowly slipping away with age, that’s perfectly normal for any game. And eve has held up for an incredibly long time. I just want to provide actual facts on this happening, rather than screaming “DOOM” like soom, or closing my eyes and sticking my fingers in my ears and muttering that eve is eternal over and over like others.
We all just need to enjoy the game, while we can.
Would look a lot brighter if:
IVANKA TRUMP 2020 !!!
I would like to see it brighter but then its just CCP and Hilmar. Track record is not impressive.
If I would have to bet, I would bet on something else.
Probably cos you looked for all the world like yet another alt army
Yup, future looks so bright for Eve. PCU has stabilized at fall 2015 levels, so that is good. Oh wait, in 2015 those were all paying accounts.
Yeah, CCP really has demonstrated their ability to keep Eve alive.
PCU is only an indicator for a few hours per day. and in no way or form a proper indicator for the health of the game. when you want to be a negative nancy, be it somewhere else.
Nice try at spin there.
But it doesn’t fly.
*The future looks right or tight? Can’t see bright sides further of this project if CCP continues what they doing.
so whats up with the npcs attacking mission runners
i understand it has something to do with the recent changes but i didnt get exactly how it works
