I remember watching that series, and maybe the film that inspired it. It always felt weird how salt water was like acid to the aliens and they would die and dissolve if they were thrown into the sea or someone just threw a few sacks of salt into their swimming pool. Makes no sense scientifically speaking. 
(But then, that’s briliant compared to the aliens from “Signs”…)

I have seen few parts of the series, to try it out, never really felt a need to watch more afterwards.
There was other series I liked tho.
Because it reminded me of “The Forever War” comics series I liked too.

Houm… apparently the comic is based on the novel with the same title by Joe Haldeman. A true classic, although I’ve always had the suspicion that the end of the war is a kind of joke and the “ultimate man” is not to be taken seriously, as if mankind managed to defeat itself for being warmongering fools and true mankind were Mandella and his colapsar-traveling “freaks”.

What he holds is not a banana from nature as it evolved. It was actually developed by humans in the proces of farming. The wild bananas are a lot less appealing.
