The like and get likes thread II

MSC Opera suffered power failure and the link to the tugboat snapped while trying to steer it away from the pier, so that’s just 66,000 tons of metal & stuff coming to a stop… This kind of incident means “Inertia IS a thing, beetches”.

This is as seen from the shore by the ship:

In Spain that’s called “parking by ear”, just go until you hear something.

Simply hilarious, Yiole!
People here do that often enough while parking. :joy:
I don’t know if you guys have seen this very old video but you can replace “Italy” with “Turkey” and it will still be totally accurate(even today):

Some of those apply to Spain too, albeit some are different. Here politics it’s more about losers flinging their banners at the winner to try and knock him down. Also we can’t beat Italy in matters of coffee, we just bow to the masters of coffee making.

Guess what I’m doing now… YES! I’m going to bed, you guessed it! Nighties lovelies!

Also: Spanish Army MRE, best MRE!

I actually have meatballs with peas like those in the video, just in 375 grams can. I always keep one for emergency eating like coming late from job or not willing to cook anything. Also the seafood, that’s pretty standard in every Spanihs supermarket, I just don’t like fish nor seafood.

Note: he mentions there’s no spoon with the MRE package. Thats because table utensils are standard issue for Spanish soldiers, they are a kit smaller than standard size, are made with stainless steel and come in a small carry bag attached to the utility belt. So Spanish soldiers always carry spoon, fork and knife.

Today I watched Dan Brown’s Inferno with Tom Hanks in it.

It was ok. I enjoyed it and it wasn’t especially hard on my mental health(scenes at the start of the movie were gruesome).

Maybe you haven’t come across a delicious seafood dish which you can resonate with yet. :man_shrugging: I used to not like tripe soup. But once I ate it at a restaurant dedicated to serving tripe soup and learned to add vinegar and garlic sauce into it, it was the most delicious soup I’ve eaten.

Was there an earthquake in Barcelona?

An earthquake of magnitude 4.2 on the Richter Scale was recorded in Catalonia at 5.29pm yesterday. The quake could be felt in Andorra and the metropolitan area of Barcelona . Josefina Lladós, mayor of Ribera d’Urgellet, said the earthquake felt “as if someone took the house to shake it”. ~ Apr 4, 2019

Talking of , Onto a Tray, or, as in Let’s get This (or that), in relation to it,
I have to update analysis on a document I have from the army,
for which (I won’t mention which army here at this time, nor do I plan to answer questions in relation to it at this time, or here either by the way) they did spend $50,000 for it in the 1950s, which 1950s money is about equivalent to over $500,000 in 2020 dollars (or 2019 dollars), even if it is not surprisingly or surprisingly the exact same money system as everyone else, or, as everyone else based their money system on (not that it has anything to do with business, even if it does, or if it doesn’t).

It seems that a lot of the problems are not originating from it,
and that,
by not respecting it fully, or as duly as I could, regardless of if I should, or would,
that I am missing not only great opportunity,
but that it would also solve a lot of the other non-related problems, indirectly or not,
if I do it right that is, or, if I do it as right and respectfully as I can, or as I should, or could,
or even would.

Interesting, I thought Atlantis was in place of Thera, and was destroyed by that volcano.

Maybe there were more highly developed early and pre-bronze age cultures that collapsed. And we dont know much about them because the changes with water levels or other catastrophes, and everything was flooded or buried.

(for non MRE food, like, the food they would give to military patient in a doctor’s clinic, or lab, or medical research center, or, while on a trip to Washington DC maybe …)

My trouble with fish and seafood is that they are too tasty. The only fish I eat is almost flavorless, things from the sea don’t really have an appealing taste to me. Neither does rotten milk, aka cheese.

Was there an earthquake in Barcelona?

None that I know of.

But today a chemical reactor from a factory blew up spectaculary. Explosion was heard 10 kilometers away, a raging fire ensued and there’s a freak incident about a man who has died after the ceiling between his flat and that above collapsed on him, eyewitness claim that a piece of flaming debris from the explosion came trough a window and collapsed the ceiling, 2 kilometers away from the explosion! Firefighters have found a metal sheet among the rubble and they believe it could be from the reactor that exploded. Call this a freak accident within an accident!

Anyway that’s been in Tarragona, some 100 kilometers south of Barcelona and I don’t know anyone down there.

And now I’m off to bed. Nighties lovelies!

Also: A De Lorean self-drivin’ and driftin’ in style…

There’s a big “but”, the vehicle doesn’t haves any sensors, a computer plotted the track with GPS and then inserts commands into the car control computer so it follows the desired path. The car itself doesn’t knows where it is or what is doing, just follows commands.

Microsoft lists the Windows 10 minimum hardware requirements as: Processor : 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster processor or SoC. RAM: 1 gigabyte (GB) for 32-bit or 2 GB for 64-bit. Hard disk space : 16 GB for 32-bit OS 20 GB for 64-bit OS.

Edit:

  • I meet all of those requirements and more.

https://www.quora.com/What-are-the-Windows-10-system-requirements
But I reccomend

  1. processor: 2.5 GHz Dual Core (Faster is better)
  2. RAM :- 4 GB (2018 Atleast 8 GB)
  3. HDD 320GB
  4. GPU :- any (Nvidia Tiatan v is the Best)
  5. Display :- 1920X1080 (Full HD)

I can aslo meet the Recommended system hardware,
except I would have to make around 100 GB (or, 0.1 TB) of free Hard Disk space which I can do.

Luckily I took care of our windows 7 problem a few weeks ago at work except for one ruggedized Dell laptop our service department uses for diagnostics on boat motors. Frankly I’m afraid to touch the thing as it has specialized Yamaha and Suzuki diagnostic software and who knows what would happen to them with a Windows 10 “upgrade”. I could turn off the WiFi on it as its not really even needed, the service guys got their own PCs in the shop for internet use anyway.

Boss Mang was reluctant to upgrade but I told him he had no choice.

Now for the dreaded adopting of 4 new iPad minis for the servers at the restaurant tomorrow. Adopting them into our management software, assigning static IPs, updating the back end, testing and working out any problems all within a 4 hour window. Yay!

You’re still trying to find drivers and get the other ones that you actually found to work.

I would have put linux on my work laptop but I need MS Office and a few Adobe programs, I know you can get some of them to work on linux and there are alternatives but I’d rather not waste my time.

Not sure what to think about it but I do have a Macbook in the mail for my replacement work laptop. I guess I’ll see how it works.
