The Like and Get Likes Thread IV

Considering how many people fell from being wealthy to being impoverished. That car might be the last thing the family managed to hold on. Being migrant workers. That car became their way to get to the next field faster. Thus making more money.

The stark difference between the wealth that is tied up in the car and being so poor as to not be able to buy shoes for their children. Shows how much the depression made people to do things that previously been unthinkable.

We have things far too easy and that everything is handed to us.

We can or at least appreciate our heritage who set the path going forward.

/ the Great Depression had effected people differently within families that had generated fears.

// that photo was from my mother’s side and I recall my Grandfather had delivered blocks of ice to homes and that he had never gone to school.

In WW2 Grandfather Jack went to Africa

On my father’s side though was completely different in North London as they held a large farm and store.

Zaera’s 3rd wish would be to have 3 more wishes outsmarting the genie.

You can’t outsmart the Genie as the caveat to use the lamp is not to ask for more wishes but one can circumvent that by asking for an unlimited supply of PLEX since it can be used for just about everything in game

My 1st wish would be to have this silly rule deleted.

He may be a Genie ,but it is Zaera he is dealing with.

I’m all for deleting rules but some rules are useful.
"The limitation to three wishes often serves as a cautionary tale, highlighting the potential pitfalls of greed and the importance of contentment.
This constraint also helps maintain the dramatic tension and structure of the story, preventing characters from wishing themselves out of any conceivable trouble.

While the exact origin of the three-wish rule is not definitively traced, its prevalence in folklore and literature suggests it has been adopted as a standard for maintaining narrative coherence and engaging storytelling."

You and a Genie? That ought to be interesting he-he :slightly_smiling_face:

My new boyfriend is so needy, already demanding things like “Please untie me” and “Tell me who you are

They definitively don’t make them like they used to. I once met one on the internet. My mother asked him what line he used on me, and he replied, “I just used a modem.”
I just don’t see myself keeping one at home. Too much work, little reward.

Could do with one with a sexy british accent for my collection.

Only if he talks like Pierce Brosnan.

Speaking of which, was out cycling one night, stopped to sort my cycling computer, then a cyclist coming the other way comes over, a spitting image of one of the james bond actors with a british accent like james bond. He had come from Hong Kong to cycle hundreds of miles to his son’s 24th birthday. We talked for about half an hour before he let me go.

Noticing a pattern of how these stories go…

Wish nº 1 : x
Wish nº2: y
Wish nº3 : undo all unintended bad consequences from wishes x and y

And now I wish I was in bed, which I can easily fulfill by going there right now. Night night lovelies!

Also: weather? What weather?
