That’s a downright lie. People concerned about the impact of mass meat production on the methane levels in the atmosphere and their feedback with other greenhouse gasses talk about increasing vegetal protein and reducing animal protein.

The “they want us to eat bugs” is both a lie and bull sheete: mass production and consumption of arthropods would still be far more energy intensive than just eating vegetal proteins from sources like pulses. Turning the Sun into plant then animal then animal again takes more energy than the animal just eating the plant.

The biggest issue is cows farting

Meanwhile, the food is just a step away, organic, free range.

And by the way it is not so much cows farting as it is the waste.. The “Cow Pies”. As it turns out the bigger problem is fossil fuels and or own waste management. Those landfills no one talks about or wants to see. Those pose even a greater challenge past methane emissions.

While the article does not mention it. The other contributor to greenhouse gases being released into the atmosphere is the tundra. Underneath the permafrost lays a lot of carbon and methane. All nicely locked up. Until it is not. Thanks to warming of the planet. That permafrost is now melting and releasing all those greenhouse gases.

As for eating bugs..

#3 Food Security

The United Nations expects the global population to reach 9.8 billion by 2050, posing significant challenges for food production to meet the increased demand. However, with limited arable land available worldwide, it will be difficult to keep pace with this growing population using traditional farming methods. Insects offer a promising solution by providing an eco-friendly, land-efficient alternative that still offers a nutritious source of protein.

and across the pond

"In conclusion, in Western societies, insects are an emerging food that is rooted in the past and has gained popularity in recent years due to its nutritional value, sustainability, and versatility. As the global population continues to grow and the demand for protein increases, insects may become an increasingly important food source [8].

Today’s world presents great contradictions. For, on the one hand, a part of the population faces the overproduction of food, food waste, obesity, and other health problems related to overeating, but, on the other hand, many people are still facing food insecurity, even in wealthy countries [116]. Insects can certainly represent a (not necessarily emergency) food for hungry populations, but they should, moreover, be regarded as a sustainable source of protein and other nutrients, the consumption of which can also help the wealthier part of the world to eat in a healthier and more sustainable way [9,74,117].

However, there are also challenges to be addressed, such as the cultural and regulatory barriers to insect consumption, as well as the need for more research into the nutritional content, production, and safety of insect-based foods [118]. With continued innovation and research, insects have the potential to play an important role in meeting the world’s food needs in a sustainable and nutritious way. "

I have eaten bugs as part of a survival course. shrugs It’s just protein after all.

Then again I have eaten homemade rabbit gumbo.. The indigestion for those two weeks afterwards was glorious.

Sometimes, the 1st step to forgiveness is realising that the person that left you must be totally batshit crazy. Screw that , Zaera wants revenge.

The biggest revenge you can ever take from other people is being as happy and taking the best care of yourself as you can.

I bought a sail for my boat on Amazon the other day. Today it dawned on me that it’s not the right size so I called to cancel. They said it’s too late.

That sail has shipped.
