Gang-Gang Cockatoos are beautiful to look at when visiting Canberra.
Population size: 10,000
Life Span: 50 Years
Weight: 200-400 grams
Length: 30 - 40 CM
Wingspan: 60 - 80 CM
The males are noticeable by their red feathers on their heads and grey feathers on their bodies..
The females however are fully grey.
They have a squawk that sounds like a creaky gate and also they make distinctive pop sound similar to a cork being pulled from a wine bottle.
They feast on Wattles, Berries and Seeds from native trees, their strong beaks can crack open pods and hard shell nuts as they hold food in one claw while eating.
