@ Zaera Keena I need help with detox. Liver releases chemicals at night between 10PM-6AM. I need a strong cardio exercise that makes me sweat a lot. I need a really good coach who is up to par with my stamina. Up for it? :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

The ranch grew by 5,000 acres total and 7,000 in cotton between the time they put the advert in Spanish and remade it in English.

A “piscador” in Mexico is someone who hand picks crops that require hand picking, like corn, coffee, beans or cotton.

Behold what I found today, and take care because it’s addictive on its own way…

My shortest run was death as newborn girl around 267,000 BCE in the Congo basin. The longest one a still alive Chinese grandma from the northern plains, born 1963 and around 63 now with 3 surviving children and 2 grandchildren.

(Just… one… more… roll…)

1562 BCE
Nile Valley
A girl
Died at 13 in an accident.

In 1562 BCE, in the Nile Valley, near present-day Heliopolis, a girl was born; no record preserves her name. She lived in a village of about 700 people. Her home was a wattle-and-daub house. She was an only child. She lived on emmer bread and barley beer, lentils and fava beans, Nile fish, and onions, leeks, and lettuce, with dates and figs for fruit. She spoke the Egyptian language, and her faith was a local polytheistic religion. She was 13 when she died in an accident. After death, she was laid in a desert grave with a few possessions – embalming was for those who could pay for it.

PS: oh, and night night people! Signing off for today… just…

I rolled a Sumerian High Princess, born 4000 years ago. She became a vampire and went on to study astrophysics at Hedion University’s Conoban Community College extension office. As a High Princess, she inherited ten thousand star systems shortly before her twenty-fifth millenia.

5359 BCE
the Levant
a boy
Married at 16, no children, died at 21 of tuberculosis

In 5359 BCE, in the countryside near Damascus, a boy was born whose name is lost to history. His village counted about 450 people. He made his home in a mud-brick house packed against its neighbours. He was the third of six children. He lived on wheat and barley bread, lentils and chickpeas, sheep and goat, and onions and greens, with figs, grapes, and olives for fruit. His height was about 172 cm (5 ft 8 in).

At 16, he married. He left no children. The greatest distance he ever travelled was half a day’s walk, to a neighbouring village. He spoke an unrecorded Neolithic language of the Levant, and practised animist and ancestor-revering beliefs. By occupation he was a date-palm cultivator. He died of tuberculosis at 21.

a boy
Died at 8 months from malnutrition

Image: A brush or grass windbreak, AI-generated as an illustration — the kind of dwelling recorded for the Central Asian steppe in 18,108 BCE, not a record of any actual home.

A boy whose name no record preserves was born in 18,108 BCE, on the Central Asian steppe, near present-day Samarkand. He lived in a mobile band of about 40 people. Among five children, he was the fourth. He did not survive infancy, dying of malnutrition.

Time to go to sleep… I’ve been plotting two pieces of AI slop, one that should be easier because it requires limited accuracy and other is likely to escalate into a can of worms on steroids (but hopefully not like the Venetian hotel nightmare). Meanwhile I’m signing off with an old picture and maybe a random human… night night people!

Photograph: a Polisario fighter and her child, Western Sahara, 1976, by Christine Spengler

Today our Congress (in Spain) has approved to return Spanish nationality to Saharaui people born in Western Sahara prior to the decolinisation by Spain, and also to their children. Although this won’t help with the situation of Western Sahara, it repairs an injustice as that people were deprived of their nationality in a context where Spain had bigger fishes to fry and Morocco had just played a strong hand to take over Western Sahara from Spain. Migh not be a big thing, but to 80,000 people might be life-changing by becoming citizens of Spain again, and as they should.

Meanwhile in a past filled with 100 billion humans…

1789 BCE (Bronze/Iron Age depending on where)
Northern Germany (weee, first time in Europe!)
a boy
Fifth of five, lost his father at 5, orphaned at 13, married at 26, had 11 children, 8 survived, had 16 grandchildren, died at 68 in a local war or intergrupal violence

In 1789 BCE, a boy was born in Northern Germany, near present-day Hamburg. His name went unrecorded. He grew up in a hamlet that held about 40 people. His dwelling was a rectangular post-built timber house with wattle-and-daub walls. Of five children, he was the fifth. His father died when he was 5, and his mother when he was 13. His diet was mostly emmer and barley bread, peas and beans, pork, and cabbage and turnips, with apples and pears for fruit. His height was about 167 cm (5 ft 6 in).

He married when he was 26. Of the eleven children he had, a boy and seven girls survived past childhood. His journeys took him no farther than a day’s walk, to another village. He spoke an early Indo-European (pre-Germanic) language, and practised a pagan religion. By occupation he was a farmer.

Death came at 68, in a local war. He left 16 grandchildren behind.

AI-generated reconstruction of a mud-brick and timber farmhouse, the kind recorded for the Guinea Coast in 206 CE

Olumide was born in 206 CE on the Guinea Coast, near present-day Lagos. His hamlet counted about 80 people. In a family of five children, he was the second. The household he was born into followed a traditional polytheistic religion. Olumide died of malaria, still in early childhood.

What’s the difference? People go to the gym to get ready for the second meaning anyway, you silly.
Back in the day I was one of the 3 lucky people among a raffle to get a free gym sub. Me and 2 scrawny girls. The retired local bodybuilding 2x champion was our training coach and after measurements, health checkups etc. he gave exercises tailored for each individual after asking what they wanted.

I told I wanted to build muscle first, so after that weight loss will be a piece of cake. Then after that he asked the two girls what they wanted to do, the girls uneasily told they wanted to build muscle as well. He wrote them a plan. Then the girls insisted that they wanted to do squats instead. The guy was dumbfounded “Why the heck would you want to waste your time doing squats?!”. And I explained that most of the girls nowadays are now into cossack dance, its the new craze among the girls who choose a healthy and fit life and that it helps them a ton when dancing.

He asked “why are they uneasy when answering, then?”. I finally told that old fashioned stuff are frowned upon these days. smh.

People are too dumb for that to work unfortunately. They have to be forced to exchange wealth, and the ones who are forcing them will get the most of it. That is why the other systems are so popular, those that force people into paying taxes, not cooperativism.

Cooperativism could have worked in small groups where everyone was tied by strong connections and could have had a job in the community and that community was self sufficient enough, but that was I think in paleolithic.

Anything more advanced would mean taxes in some form. Even in my idealistic technosphere the robots work and produce, but that is taken from them and distributed and those that distribute will in theory have nobody stopping them from taking some extra for their own good, unless they would be robots themselves, not very intelligent so they dont want to be greedy.

Maybe if technospere takes over everything, humans can be treated as pets and cared for, that would remove inequalities, governments, wars. Superintelligent creature would solve the inequality problem, availability problem, logistic problem, would have emotional superintelligence to share it all, and everyone would have his own wheel for fun.

Maybe designing something like it doesnt even requaire superintelligence, Maybe we can create our perfect master and call it GOD for the heck of it.
